Hickory Flat Shootist Society We are a Cowboy Fast Draw Club shooting Speed Shoot style on the 2nd Saturday and CFDA on the 4th Saturdays each month at 9am signup shoot at 10am.

We teach and practice safe gun handling skills and help each other reach our full potential in fast draw. The guns are real Single Action C**ts or C**t clones (modern reproduction guns) chambered in

45 C**t, we shoot wax bullets propelled by a shotgun primer or a small charge of black powder substitute. The target are 17 3/16" steel disks with a timing light in the middle. Our timers record down to the 1/1000th of a second. Contact us to learn more or check out details at cowboyfastdraw.com

Our normal schedule is: Practice on 2nd Tuesday evenings 5-7pm We shoot XFDA matches on the 2nd Saturday from 9am-1:30 pm. Our Monthly CFDA Match is the 4th Saturday, 9am registration shoot from 10am until around 1:30pm.

The FL State Championship was also a very cold day with wind blowing through the rodeo arena. I had a great day winning 15 matches in a row and then faced my friend Saltwater Cowboy. He is younger and faster and proved it by hitting 3 winning shots in a row, twice. I also was hitting but a .370 is definitely faster than a .410. So I was honored to be state runner-up. Other than the weather the Florida shooters have put on a great tournament. Today starts the 2 day National tournament.

September Cowboy Fast Draw Match was today. Finishing first for the ladies was Brown Eyed Girl, also with the fastest time. New shooter Bye Bye Birdie finished second and shot great in her first match. Third was Ruthless Annie.
For the men Syxkiller had the fastest time and finished first. Pale Rider was second. Barry James third with the long gun Fourth was Snakebit. Fifth was Cinco Kid, Sixth was Armadillo Bob and Seventh was Lightning Storm. Also shooting with the long gun was Rambunctious Red.
Next event is October 11, a Speed Match at 11am.
