WELCOME TO CANDY LAND, LIONS FAMILIES!

It’s HOMECOMING GAME DAY and there’s only one thing sweeter than Homecoming… HOME SWEET VICTORY!

We’re ready for a FULL day of football, family, food and Lions fun as our Canton Lions take on the Westland Comets!

Come hungry and ready to have some fun! We’ll have food trucks, 3D printing vendors, custom tumblers, Lions gear, hand sanitizer carriers, tumbler accessories, keychains, custom lemonades, a dirty soda bar, cotton candy and MORE!

Parent Recognition will take place before each game as we celebrate the families behind our athletes and kick off each Homecoming matchup!

Our 50/50 raffle and Athlete Shoutouts are CASH ONLY! Get those shoutouts in and let your Lion hear you cheering for them!

BOARD NOMINATIONS: 80s EDITION

Since the internet decided we all needed to see what we would’ve looked like running the Canton Lions in the 80s… we obviously had to participate. 😂

Big hair? ✅
Questionable fashion choices? ✅
Running youth football & cheer? Apparently also ✅

Now back to 2026 business before someone asks us to break out the shoulder pads.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Parent Meeting last night! As discussed, nominations for 2027 Canton Lions Board positions are officially open through September 30th.

All additional nominations must be emailed directly to the Canton Lions Secretary.
If you nominate someone who was not nominated for that position during the Parent Meeting, that nomination will be sent out for a second nomination, and the nominee will also need to accept the nomination before moving forward.

Voting will take place in October.

We appreciate our Lions families getting involved and helping shape the future of our Pride.

And now that the official business is handled…

CANTON LIONS PARENTS MEETING TONIGHT!

Lions families, don’t forget our Parents Meeting tonight, Tuesday, September 8th at 6:30 PM at The Shed!

We’ll be sharing important updates, upcoming events, and information as we continue through the season.

We will also be taking nominations for Canton Lions Board positions for next season. If you’re interested in getting more involved with the organization or know someone who would be a great addition to our board, tonight is the opportunity to submit nominations.

Board voting will take place in October. Additional information regarding the voting process will be shared as we get closer.
Our organization is only as strong as the families and volunteers who continue to show up for our athletes and our Pride. We hope to see you tonight!

Our Candyland- themed Homecoming is coming up Sunday, September 13th, and we can’t wait to see the Pride decked out in blue and white for one of the sweetest days of the season!

PRACTICE CANCELLED TONIGHT

Canton Lions families, due to the storms that moved through our area today, all football and cheer practices are cancelled for tonight.

We know today’s weather has impacted school releases, caused flooding and power outages, and made for a hectic afternoon for many of our families. Tonight, we want everyone to have the opportunity to get home safely, get settled, and take care of whatever they may need to after the storms.

Please stay safe, Lions! We’ll get back after it together at our next practice.

Lions parents & families don’t forget to check your email for the link to your athlete’s photo gallery! There are some AMAZING shots from Picture Day, so make sure you get those Lion memories ordered!

IMPORTANT DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 5TH!

All photo orders must be placed by September 5th. After that date, the galleries will CLOSE and will NOT be reopened, and no additional orders can be accepted.
So if you’ve been meaning to go back and order those photos, fat heads, magnets, team pictures, or other keepsakes now is the time!

PRACTICE CANCELLED TONIGHT
Lions families, due to the heat and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our athletes and coaches, ALL football and cheer practices are cancelled tonight.

We know our Lions are tough, but keeping our Pride safe will always come first.

Please enjoy the unexpected night off, stay cool, hydrate, and we’ll see everyone back at practice tomorrow!

Sunday belonged to our Varsity Lions as they hit the road to take on the SE Ferndale Eagles!

From the opening whistle, our Lions came ready to compete bringing the energy, the intensity, and plenty of moments worth running back.

Week after week, this group continues to come together, push each other, and show what it means to represent the Canton Lions every time they step onto the field.

The season is just getting started, and there’s a whole lot more football ahead for this crew.

WEEK 2
Another game day is in the books, and our Lions showed up ready to WORK against the Lakes Area Hawks!

Our Jr. Freshman Lions may not keep an official score, but we know what we saw they played hard, worked together, and came out with the WIN!

Our Freshman Lions kept that momentum going and brought home another WIN! And our JV Lions finished out the day strong, making it three Lions victories for Week 2!

But the wins are only part of the story.
Week 2 was another chance for our athletes to grow, compete, trust their teammates, and put everything they’ve been working on at practice onto the field. Every week we see a little more confidence, a little more fight, and a whole lot of heart from this PRIDE.

And of course, our Lions Cheerleaders brought the energy ALL DAY LONG! From the sidelines to halftime, they kept our Lions loud and proud and made sure that Lions spirit traveled with us!

Thank you to our coaches, cheer coaches, volunteers, parents, families, and everyone who made the trip out to support our athletes. It takes the entire PRIDE, and we love seeing our Lions family show up for these kids week after week.

Week 2 is officially in the books.
We celebrate the wins.
We learn from every play.
And then we get ready to do it all again.
