Well after 2 attempts to get our first race in at Oxford and both of them getting rained out, our season opener was Thunder Road in Barre, Vermont this past Saturday. Practice went well, we were top 3 in the first two practice sessions before we decided to sit out final practice after noticing a gear oil leak. We did our best to try and get that fixed but we just didn’t have the time we needed. Started 3rd in heat 1 and that’s where we finished. That put us starting 5th in the feature. We were able to get up to 3rd within a handful of laps. We hung with the front two the entire race, trying the high side, trying the low side hoping those two guys would make a mistake that we could capitalize on confident that we could hang on for the win if we could just get by the front two. The gear oil just soaked the right rear tire and once that happened we had no bite off the corner. Finished 3rd to two of the best in the division. The confidence is high going into this year for our team! Gotta thank a new old sponsor, Rocky Ridge Livestock for coming on board this year. They sponsored us back when we ran mini cups and decided they would like to help us out again this year. This family has the best beef in the business and is right in our hometown of Canton! A great start to this season.

Tomorrow’s opening day race has been postponed to next Sunday, April 30th. Practice day today and the car went good on junk tires from last year. Excited to see what we’ve got with the changes we’ve made for this year!

Summer is coming to an end and that means it's time for the 49th Annual Oxford 250. They have added to the action this year. Kick off party tonight, free to the public. For more info check out their website/Facebook.
