I will be the first to say it. No way it makes sense to hit with anything but a drop 3 in high school. Period. You will not play at the next level. And on top of that any of my guys I train will only swing drop 3.

To all the sports parents navigating tryout season, roster announcements, and team decisions — take a deep breath. It's going to be okay.

Don't get caught up asking, "Is my son or daughter on the best team?" or "Are they playing for the biggest-name organization?"

Instead, ask yourself:

✅ Are they being challenged?

✅ Do their teammates make them better?

✅ Are they learning how to compete, overcome adversity, and handle success and failure?

✅ Are they becoming mentally tougher?

✅ Are they learning life lessons that will help them long after the game is over?

✅ Are they working through their own challenges instead of having every obstacle removed for them?

This time of year can be stressful. Emotions run high. Expectations can feel overwhelming. But remember, development is a marathon, not a sprint.

Hang in there. Finish what you started. Trust the process.

And above all, make sure your network is strong. The relationships you build with coaches, parents, mentors, and supporters can open doors, provide guidance, and create opportunities that no team name ever will.

The goal isn't just to raise a great athlete. The goal is to raise a great young adult who is prepared for life.

Keep showing up. Keep believing. Keep building.

I highly reccomend this camp. Jharel Cotton is an excellent trainer. He worked with Jayden Smith all last summer.

At The Lab Canton, it has always been about more than just baseball and softball.

What truly makes The Lab special is the group of coaches who dedicate their time, energy, passion, and knowledge to helping athletes grow every single day.

Coach Orlando Martinez
Coach Rick Ricardo Rojas
Coach Marc
Coach Keith Woeste
Coach Sheyla
Coach Julia Woeste
Coach Brian Bryan Boyd
Coach Emily Yagley
Coach Ricky Rojas

Together, these coaches have trained hundreds of baseball and softball players throughout the years — helping athletes build confidence, improve fundamentals, strengthen their mindset, and develop a true understanding of the game.

One of the best things about The Lab is the culture of sharing knowledge and resources. Our coaches work together, learn from one another, and stay focused on one goal: helping every athlete who walks through The Lab doors become better.

There’s no magic dust.
Just hard work, accountability, consistency, and coaches who truly care about player development.

We are proud of the impact these coaches continue to make on athletes and families throughout the community. The work inside The Lab matters — and the results continue to show year after year. ⚾🥎🔥
