The Little Giants WC wants to send a HUGE shoutout to Kinnley Smith!

This week she competed at the prestigious U20 National Championships in Spokane, Washington.

Kinnley finished in 7th place and earned All-American honors.

The Little Giants WC family along with Canton wrestling and our community is so incredible proud of this accomplishment.

Wrestling has been such a success for our school and our community and we love seeing our former athletes continue competing after high school and having this amount of success!!!!

Great job Kinnley!!! Way to represent your College and your hometown!!!

Yesterday we capped off our season at the 2026 IKWF State Championship. Your Little Giants WC had a great weekend full of ups, downs, sore shoulders, broken foot, and some heartbreaks. The kids stayed strong through all of the adversity and their humor never wavered. All of us coaches are so incredibly proud of each and everyone of our qualifiers and placers.

Please give these kids a huge shoutout and our placers the recognition they deserve.

This past weekend the Little Giant WC competed in the 2026 IKWF Sectional tournament in Rock Island, IL. We took 20 qualifiers!. We had a rough start to our day facing some very tough competition. Every wrestler came out and gave it there all and we ended up with 8 State Qualifiers and 3 wild card draw and 3 alternates!. Results are as follows:

This week the Little Giants WC heads to the Peoria Civic Center to compete at the 2026 IKWF State Championships!!!. Wish all of these kids luck as they put everything they have worked on this season to the test against the very best Illinois has to offer!!!

IMPORTANT SECTIONAL INFORMATION:

The following information is for the 2026 IKWF West Sectional Tournament on March 7, 2025 at Rock Island High School. This tournament will be available on USABracketing.com as soon as I can finish wildcards and fix unbalanced brackets. I still have one wildcard offer that the coach has not responded to.

Weigh-in sites and wrestling times as follows:
Location Rock Island High School. Tournament director Joel Stockwell (email [email protected] phone 309-269-9428).
Weigh-in at Football Stadium Locker Rooms at Rock Island High School 3/6 from 4:00-6:00p. Please park in the lot at the corner of 17th and 25th, as shown on the map. Please do not arrive early as the school is busy until 4:00p. Arrive after 4pm.

Satellite weigh-ins 3/6.

Lil Reaper 4:00p-5:00p at Plano Middle School at 804 S. Hale Street, Plano, IL.

Sauk Valley 4:30-6:00p at the Newman Central Catholic High School Wrestling Room, Sterling Illinois. Follow the signs.

Crunching Cavs from 5:30-7:00p. Location Lasalle-Peru High School Wrestling Room, 541 Chartres Street, Lasalle.

309 Wrestling from 4:00p to 5:30p at Washington High School 115 Bondurant Street, Washington. Enter door 9 on East side of building.

Quincy Little Raiders from 9am-10am. Quincy Notre Dame High School, 1400 S 11th Street, Quincy, Illinois

Last chance weigh-in Saturday 3/7 morning 6:30a-7:30a in upper hallway of Rock Island High School.

Wrestling:
Doors open at 7:00a. Coach sign-in 7:00a to 8:15a.
Coach Meeting at 7:30a in upper hallway.

Session 1 from 8:30a to 1:00p. Session 1 Intermediate and Senior (both boys and girls)

Grand March - line-up at 12:45p. Start when wrestling Session 1 is over. Attendance at Grand March is not required to wrestle.

Session 2 from 2:00p to 7:30p. Session 2 Bantam and Novice (both boys and girls)

Security at Rock Island High School will be tight again this year. Please be aware of the information in the attached Safe Schools Protocols document. There is a list of items that would be better left in your car.

Gate fees for Sectionals are as follows: $5 Adults, $3 Students w/ ID, $1 children five and under

Saturday Parking map for Rock Island High School also attached.

Make check payment of $30 x number of wrestlers to Rock Island Wrestling Club. If weighing in at Rock Island, pay at weigh-ins. If satellite weigh-in, pay before coaches meeting. All checks should be given to Joel Stockwell, tournament director.

Our team went out today and competed their tails off. Effort was amazing and the fun being had was even better!!!. unfortunately, we have 8 kids that will not be moving forward. Today was a tough day not having those kids join us next week. We could not be any prouder of all of our kids for their efforts today and the support each and everyone of them gave one another. Thats what we build here in Canton. A FAMILY!.

I want to say congraulations to all of our Sectional qualifiers and those that left it all on the mat and came up short. Time to get back to it tomorrow as we leave friday for the IKWF Sectional Championships in Rock Island, IL.

Yesterday we hosted out 2nd annual Little Giant Holiday Hammer IKWF Tournament at Alice Ingersoll Gymnasium. We had an amazing turnout with 300 wrestlers competing!. I want to first take this time and Thank Seth Klinedinst and the Chamber of Commerce for allowing us to use some of their equipment to help with crowd control. I also want to thank Rick Klinedinst and Mid-America National Bank for also letting us use their barricades. This helped out as we had many more people than we anticipated. Huge thank you to you guys for be great community members and allowing our Youth program to borrow these to help us out!.

Additionally, I want to send a huge shoutout to all of our volunteers that helped make this day possible! All of the highschool wrestlers, parents, coaches, etc. I want to thank Coach Crawford and Coach Kees for helping run the tournament and being patient and calm as we had to navigate through some minor issues.

I want to thank all of the wrestling moms on our team for busting their butts with concessions, setup, and breakdown. there was alot of behind the scenes work that our moms handled and I cannot thank each and everyone of you enough, especially my wife Jessica Noland. You guys are all awesome and helped make this day possible!.

Lastly, but certaintly not least, I want to send a HUGE shoutout to Marianne Farmiga for donating all of the concessions for the 2nd year! without her gracious donation this tournament would not be possible. We cannot thank her enough for how awesome she has been to our program and most importantly to our young kids. Thank you so much!!!!

Our wrestlers went out and competed their tails off all day!. Unfortunately, there was a mistake with entering in team scores for our team and instead of coming home with a team trophy for second place, we finished 5th overall out of 20+ teams.

Overall, for the first tournament of the season, our kids wrestled very well. We still have a lot of work in certain areas but there is no doubt in us coaches minds we will get to where we need to be.

We are all very proud of each and every wrestler yesterday and cannot wait to get back to training and get ready for the CICC Classic next weekend in Springfield!
