An enormous congratulations and THANK YOU to Donna Iannone, who was the mastermind behind our amazing Endless Mountains 430-mile bikepacking loop that has transformed into what is now Endless Mountains Gravel and a series of gravel cycling loops through our four counties! Yesterday, Donna completed the 250-mile loop as part of the Endless Mountains Grand Depart - 430/250/115 Mile Options, and we couldn't be more proud of her and the work she did to help create it! As a Sullivan County Commissioner and EMHR Board Member back in 2021, Donna came to us with the idea of using our existing dirt/gravel roads and trails in the region to create a massive four-county bikepacking loop and create a new and exciting way to explore the beautiful Endless Mountains. Donna has worked side by side with the amazing Endless Mountains Gravel Committee comprised of the EMHR, Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency, PA Endless Mountains, Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission, The Susquehanna County Promotion and Tourism Agency, Eric Schoonover of the Canton Cycling Club, and our amazing consultant, David Landis of Village to Village Trails. This was your brainchild, Donna, and all the praise, that wooden medallion, and the beer you enjoyed at the end of your ride are all well deserved! Cheers!

Wow, what a weekend! The unPAved event continues to deliver amazing vibes, breathtaking views, and even better memories. Despite the forecast, the weather was perfect for a fall ride, and the Canton Cycling Club crew showed up in full force to celebrate under the beautiful fall leaves.

We claim all of our friends as club members (like it or not!), so no matter what kit you wear, we were cheering you on and consider you one of our own! Some highlights from the weekend: slayed the Big Lick 200. and invented the “Aid Station 80-Mile Route”. and packed all the snacks at the SlumberPArty. joined up with us at for a rolling recovery. Steve (“Dad”) and enjoyed every minute of the Proper 50. volunteered and welcome us to the DonePAved party with a smile and a whoopie pie. Joe was supporting and taking care of logistics, while still meeting us at every brewery along the way! (We can’t wait to have him healthy and back on a bike again soon!) Wendy cared for a sick Will while we rode, which was a huge help!

As always, we got to visit with old friends and make new ones on and off the bike! This community of gravel cyclists is so welcoming; we walk away from every event feeling proud, inspired, and grateful for the friendships we’ve made and the challenges we’ve conquered together **cough** Jones Mountain **cough**

Huge thanks to and for another stellar event. We are so lucky to be part of this incredible experience year after year. Until next time, —2025, here we come!

Another Tour de Shunk in the books for the CCC (yes, another post that is a few weeks late). This year, the gravel routes were the most popular option and, on a beautiful, sunny September Sunday, who DOESN'T want to cruise these beautiful PA roads! Our CCC/Gravel Rat riders were joined by guest riders from Mid Atlantic GTD unpavedPA and many other groups (I can't keep track of who is associated by what)! The result? A wonderful ride enjoyed by awesome people! The CCC also took on staffing Aid 2 on the gravel routes and escorting the youth/intro gravel ride.

Our last make-up post, because the Tour de Shunk is upon us and we have to start sharing new content! On August 25 the CCC had a Tour of Armenia 'club pre-ride' to sample some of the roads that will be on offer this upcoming weekend at the Canton Gravel celebration. As it is known, the CCC isn't just for Cantonites and as is the tradition, we showed off Suffer Hill and the 'CCC Overlook' (Lambs Lookout) to the newbies. Thanks to the efforts of Adam Rubert , Jeremy, Pat, Evan Dangle , Mike, Grant and Eric Schoonover , we know this weekend's Armenia Mt festivities will be on choice (Incredible PA Gravel). RIDE ON!

Next make-up post leading in to the Tour de Shunk weekend: Dirty Kitten Gravel Race in Rapidan, Virginia! This epic event, staged by epic people is certainly one to put on the gravel wish list. This year Jesse Piccolo and Eric Schoonover took on the inaugural Deluxe Supreme Purrito Adventure route (100 miles exploring around the countryside). It was a great route and everyone survived!

Next makeup post, Grinduro! Maxin and Relaxin at its finest. The CCC was rolling strong both at the Prelude festivities (mini-golf in bike kit? sure!) as well as for the ride day itself. Steve and Angela Hepler Schoonover took on a no-sketch Grindurito and Dana Black, Evan Dangle, Eric Schoonover, Grant Cole and Jesse Piccolo rolled through the full route. The extra topping on the finish line Taco is when our own CCC/Gravel Rats rider Jesse got to stand on the podium with an awesome performance! Grinduro is a weekend full of fun, friends, underbiking, and meeting new people. Glad that this ride is right in our neighborhood!
