A huge congratulations to all the riders who managed to take a step on to the podium last weekend here in Cañon City! Royal Gorge Gravel is no walk in the park, it takes true grit and determination to claim this podium.

From the 15 to the 100, all courses are designed to challenge you. Nothing is given out here, its earned, and you all earned it.

Especially the women. The Phantom 100 women's field got caught in rain and hail in Victor. Colorado weather can turn in the blink of an eye, especially at 9,000ft. Way to tough it out ladies!

You never know what the Royal Gorge Region is going to provide for you. You must always be prepared for anything and everything.

We are only 14 short days away from lining up on Main Street in Cañon City, and we cannot wait! 🚲

It’s time to make sure your equipment is dialed and ready for race day. The training is in the bank.

Now is the time to:
🔧 Give your bike a full once-over
🛞 Check your tires and replace anything that’s getting worn
🧴 Refresh your sealant
🛑 Check your brake pads
⛓️ Inspect your chain and drivetrain
⚙️ Make sure everything is shifting smoothly
🧰 Dial in your repair kit: tubes, plugs, CO₂/pump, multitool
🥤 Make sure your bottles, hydration pack and nutrition setup are ready
👟 Ride in the shoes, kit and gear you plan to race in

Don’t wait until race week to make major changes. Get everything sorted now, put a few rides on it, and show up knowing your setup is ready to go.

The champ is back! Last year John Keller took the top step with an impressive victory. Taking an early flyer somewhere along Shelf Road set him up for a solo finish at 5:13:41, setting a course record by a massive 45 minutes! Let's see how it unfolds this year...

"I had such a great time last year at Royal Gorge Gravel and am super excited to come back on August 23rd! The course is super well designed has great aid stations along the way. The thrill of riding across the Royal Gorge bridge cannot be beat (just don’t look down through the gaps in the wood!). And after that, the climb out of Cañon City is one of the most remote and beautiful stretches of Colorado I have ridden in! Then for the rowdy folks, the descent back into town is a true test of grit, narrow rail tunnels, and some bone rattling. I’m doing the 100 miler but there are 15, 30, and 50 mile distances too. Register by 8/6 before prices go up and see you there!" -John
