Canon City Piranhas Swim Team

Canon City Piranhas Swim Team Canon City Piranhas is a public swim team located in Canon City, Colorado. Open to youth ages 6-18. We swim in the summer beginning in mid-May to early August.

Currently we are swimming at the Florence pool due to the closure of the Canon City pool.

Swim Coach Needed

The Cañon City Swim Team is taking applications for a swim coach this summer.
Practice schedule: Mon/Wed 5:30 – 7:30pm & Tue/Thurs 9:30 - 11:30am at the Florence pool starting May 25 – early August.
Weekend meets are at neighboring towns along the Arkansas Valley.
Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation, be able to work with a variety of ages (6-18) and swim levels, and obtain certification through USA Swimming.

Hello swim families,

I have some sad news. Angela (President) and TJ (Junior coach) are retiring from the swim team. We currently do not have anyone to replace Anglea in her presidential position. In addition, she has been doing the job of president, vice president, and most of the secretarial duties for years. We are in dire need of additional help for the swim team to continue.
My husband, Matt, is the current secretary, and would be willing to be President (in name only), but he cannot take on all the duties that Angela has been doing. Ideally, we would have at least three additional people to take on these responsibilities. Or even more people that can take and manage certain aspects of her role, without needing to have an official "board" position.
If additional help is not obtained by March 13th, the swim team will be indefinitely shut down.
This has been a hard season of traveling to Florence- we have been trying to keep the team going until Canon has a pool- and we do appreciate all the help that each of you have given.
Our next board meeting is Saturday, February 28th at 9 am (email for official invite to follow). We plan to discuss these positions and if our swim team has a future, among other things. If you are able to help in any capacity, please attend this meeting (we will have an online option for attendance), or let us know via email/phone if you are not able to attend. Thank you.
