At every quarterly company meeting, we recognize individuals who represent our core values: Fun, Accountability, Zeal, and Effort. 💪

This quarter, we recognize Korey, a personal trainer from our Churchill studio, for EFFORT! 🤩

Korey has only been training with us for a few months so far, but immediately became a favorite among clients and teammates. ⭐️
He jumped into being an Axio trainer as if he’s been here for years. He puts so much effort into creating individualized workouts for each client, but also puts effort into being a great teammate and helping out with everything behind the scenes. 👏
Korey is always the first one to volunteer to take sessions and learn how to perform the services we offer in order to give our clients the best experience. He is simply a hard worker! 🙌

You might be wondering why Korey looks familiar since he is a “Churchill” trainer. That’s because he is always willing to help out at other studios too! We are so thankful to have someone we can trust in that position. He is incredibly dependable, professional, and committed to serving our clients.

Thank you, Korey, for all the effort and hard work you put into being a wonderful trainer! 🙏

Here is this week’s healthy and easy recipe! 😊☕️

Save some $$ and calories with this version of the popular PSL! If you go to your favorite coffee place, a pumpkin spice latte can cost up to $6.00 and can be almost 500 calories. Instead, make it at home and you not only will slash the calories and cost, you’ll also get a little protein, fiber and much less sugar. Not sure what to do with the rest of the can of pumpkin? Freeze two-tablespoon portions in an ice cube tray!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

¾ cup of your favorite milk, dairy or non-dairy
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
2 teaspoons real maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice blend
¼ cup coffee

In a small saucepan, add the milk, pumpkin, maple syrup, vanilla and spice blend and warm over low-medium heat (if using dairy milk, make sure to keep on low heat so it doesn’t curdle). Gently stir until hot. Pour into mug and add coffee.
You can also heat and blend the milk mixture in the microwave, stopping and stirring in 30 to 45 second increments. It’ll take at least two minutes to get it hot. Makes one serving.

Approximate nutrition when made with almond milk: 80 calories, 1g protein, 2g fat, 13g carbs, 1g fiber, 10g sugar, 130mg sodium

If you like to work out first thing in the morning, don’t forget to eat a little something first! You will improve your performance and provide yourself energy. Choose something that can be digested quickly. Stay away from anything with a lot of fiber or fat, which digest slowly. Stick with a snack that has carbs and protein. Some great options are half a peanut butter or turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread, a banana, Greek yogurt, avocado toast, cottage cheese or a hard boiled egg with fruit.

Here is this week’s healthy and easy recipe! 😊🍌

The month of September, we are going to go bananas! All our recipes will help you use up any of those brown bananas you might have. With just a few ingredients, you can whip together this week’s recipe, a slightly sweet banana bread, super quick and slice it up for a warm, comforting snack. If you only have a couple bananas, no worries! I only had two bananas, so I added a half cup of unsweetened applesauce. It didn’t take away from the banana flavor, but did add some much needed moisture.

Banana Bread

-3 ripe bananas, mashed
-1 egg
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-1/4 cup brown sugar
-1/4 cup light olive oil
-1 ½ cup white whole wheat flour
-1 teaspoon baking soda
-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1/3 cup chopped walnuts, optional
-1 teaspoon cinnamon, optional

Heat oven to 350. Spray a 9x5” loaf pan with nonstick spray. In a small bowl, mash bananas. Add egg, vanilla, sugar and oil and mix well. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, soda, salt, walnuts and cinnamon if using. Slowly add dry ingredients to banana mixture. Don’t overmix. Spread into pan and bake 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Makes roughly 16 half-inch slices.

Approximate nutrition per slice, including walnuts: 115 calories, 23 carbs, 3g protein, 4g fat, 130mg sodium, 2g fiber, 9g sugar

Did you over indulge over the holiday weekend? Maybe you had a few too many fair fries and funnel cakes? No worries! A weekend of indulging doesn’t undo your long-term progress; it simply adds temporary water weight and digestion load. Skip the urge to restrict calories or do punishing cardio. Instead, reset immediately by drinking plenty of water, getting back to your normal balanced meals, and taking a brisk walk. Focus on consistency over perfection. One healthy choice restores your momentum, so treat this week as a fresh, guilt-free start.

Here is this week’s healthy and easy recipe! 😊

A jar of natural peanut butter is a staple in our pantry. This recipe uses what’s left in the bottom of the jar, but since I make it so much, I can never wait till the end of the jar! Be careful when you add the water so that it doesn’t get too thin. I add a teaspoon of honey to sweeten it a little as well. It is delicious on a salad, but also tastes great drizzled on vegetables or even chicken.

End-of-Jar Peanut Butter Dressing

2 Tablespoons natural peanut butter
1 ½ teaspoons soy sauce
1 ½ teaspoons lime juice
1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
1-3 Tablespoons water, added slowly as needed

Add all ingredients into jar except water and mix well. Slowly add water and mix until desired consistency. Makes approximately 5 Tablespoons.

Approximate nutrition per Tablespoon: 45 calories, 2g carbs, 2g protein, 3.5g fat, 115mg sodium, 1g fiber

If you are heading out to the Canfield Fair this week, here are some tips to eat healthier:

-Take a refillable water bottle with you and stay hydrated! It’s going to be hot, so you can dehydrate quickly. And sipping water can also help you feel more full.

-Walk around the entire fair and get those steps in while you plan on what you are going to eat!

-Look for vendors who offer grilled, baked or steamed options and try to stay away from food that is full of saturated fat and sodium.

-Finally, if you just must have one of those deep fried treats, go ahead and indulge in a small piece, then share the rest with your friends!
