Caney, Kansas driver Rooted Racing - Jacob Magee is headed to Lawton Speedway this Saturday, May 9th with serious momentum.

Magee is coming off a strong Saturday night at Thomas County Speedway where he scored a Top 5 finish and earned the Mel Hambelton Racing Hard Charger Award, showing speed and the ability to move forward through the field.

If that momentum carries over, Magee could be a driver to watch in South Region action at Lawton.

Skelton crew this weekend.. 💀

Makes it a bit hard to post.

Our second night of the season resulted in a 5th place finish in the main event.

Recap:
Went out last in my qualifying group and clocked in the eighth fastest lap of the group.

Started P5 in the heat and finished P4.

That put us starting 14th in the AFeature.
After driving up to 7th about 15 laps in, we were involved in caution that sent us to the back of the field.

I threw’m on the dash and ripped the lip back up to a 5th place finish to end the night.

Maddox approves 👍

We started the night off the pace with a 6th place finish in our timing group.

Started 2nd in the heat and finished there.

Started 11th in the feature and raced up to 7th before some last lap Hail Marys put us finishing 12th.

Unfortunately we will not be firing off our season this weekend at Kennedale Speedway Park. We found a few issues on the car that couldn’t be corrected by this morning.

We are little over a week post the 2025 Gateway Dirt Nationals.
Recap: We qualified P9 for our prelim on Thursday night. Started P3 in our heat and finished P6 after going to the tail for getting caught in someone else’s mess🙃. That put us starting P12 in the BFeature where we ended up finishing in 10th.

Saturday we started on the pole of a Cmain. Running second I tried to make a pass for the lead and ended up spinning myself out rather than wiping out the leader. 👎

All in all the highlight of the weekend was spending time with family and interacting with all you fans! This is THE race we look forward to the most every year. Unfortunately our past two attempts have been our biggest struggle but that’s the way it goes sometimes! We got something a little special in store for 2026 if they will have us back! 😏
