What is CrossFit?

-CrossFit is constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity. This means the workouts are always changing with movements that are essential for your everyday life. CrossFit is programmed for EVERYONE- it is meant to be modified and scaled for all ages and physical conditions - ANYBODY can be successful at Stormpeak CrossFit. We take common people and help them

reach health and fitness goals they once could only dream about. CrossFit was constructed to derive as broad an adaptational response as possible. We work on a punch card system which allows people the flexibility of everyday life. Monthly memberships may work well for some, but you always win with this system because your classes don't expire. Starting this month, September, we will no longer offer a coach-led class during the morning or evening on Tuesdays. Historically ,Tuesday has been the least attended class of the week. If the interest level is there we can discuss an open gym setup, please speak with your coach about this option within the next week. Thank you in advance for your understanding. We are excited to welcome Elle Decatur to work with us on our rowing techniques this Thursday, 6/29 at 5:30 pm.

Elle is a Division 1 rower for the University of Massachusetts’s at Amherst. She has rowed competitively at the Cascadilla Boat Club in Ithaca for 7 years, and served as captain for the past 2. She is rank the 6th single sculler in NYS with her showing at the NYS Championship this year. We can’t wait to learn from her!

Join us Saturday, May 27th to tackle the “Murph” hero WOD. This workout was created in honor of Lt. Michael P Murphy - a Navy SEAL officer who led a four-man unit in Afghanistan. He made the ultimate sacrifice on on June 28, 2005 when he was killed in action.

Every Memorial Day, the CrossFit community (as well as many others), come together to tackle this grueling challenge to not only honor Lt. Murphy, but all those who have so bravely risked and lost their lives to keep our freedom free. The pain we face is NOTHING compared to what they did for us and our country.

Come join us in honoring the fallen.

Who: ANYONE! (You do not have to be a gym member to join us for Murph)

100 Pull-ups

**don’t be scared off by the numbers - as with any CrossFit WOD, there are scaling options to the workout! Ex. Half Murph, Murphette, Quarter Murph, or whatever you need it to be

We will be holding another social event immediately following the conclusion of Murph… last year we did brunch food. Weigh-in on what you’d like to see! This will be potluck style. Signups will be sent out/posted soon.
