Canastota Conservation Club

Canastota Conservation Club The Canastota Conservation Club is a private club dedicated to sport shooting and conservation. REMEMBER------EVERYONE is a range safety officer.

The Canastota Conservation Club is a freindly and safe place to participate in the sport of shooting. Whether it be pistol shooting, sighting in your favorite hunting shotgun, or learning the discipline of the world of reloading and bench rest shooting, the Canastota Conservation Club is the perfect choice to come partake in the art of sport shooting. The Club has a wide variety of ranges to shoot

at, starting at 50 yards, 100, 200, 300, 400,500, and 600 yards, with tall and solid earth berm-backstops. The Club also features a pistol pit, with high berms on the sides and front. With benches on the rifle range, that are VERY sturdy and secured to flat, clean cement pavement, these benches are excellent in providing a stable foundation to aid in the zeroing of your firearm. All benches are covered by a pavilion to protect you from having to sit out in the sun on hot days, or keep you dry on rainy days. Extra targets are on hand incase you forget yours at home, along with thumbtacks donated by the club. The Club provides a golf cart to make trips down range less tiresome and is available to all Club members. Experianced weapons experts are available to help assist any people who are new to shooting and looking to learn the basics, or for people who are looking to advance their ballistic knowledge. The club has been in operation for 60 years, and has hosted sanctioned matches by top organizations, with top shooters coming from around the nation and around the globe to participate in these exciting events. The Clubhouse is open to all members, with women and men's private bathroom facilities, a full kitchen with microwave for lunch-breaks during a full day of shooting, and a classroom for membership meetings to discuss future Club events, or feel free to utilize the classroom to enjoy your lunch. From roughly 1965 through the 1980s the Re*****on M700 was probably the most popular hunting rifle in the USA. Push feed, walnut and blued, multiple chamberings from 222 Rem. through the 416 Rem Mag. Was it as good as we thought? Did you have one? What did you like about it? And what happened to this iconic, all-American rifle brand?

Holy mackerel. New shooters and sometimes even experienced hunters ask "what's that hole in my rifle just where the barrel starts?" Of course, we know what to tell them, right? But, have you ever needed that hole? And did it work as advertised?
