*Shashlik is a style of skewered and grilled cubed meat central to the culinary traditions of Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe. It is closely related to the shish kebab but typically features larger chunks of meat marinated extensively to ensure tenderness. The hot meat is pulled off the skewer and served loaded with thinly sliced raw onions macerated in vinegar, fresh herbs (dill, cilantro), and a side of flatbread.

Hi Junior Sailing Families,
We’re excited to invite our junior sailors to the Junior Skenoh Island Race at Canandaigua Yacht Club on Saturday, September 5!
-a fun casual distance race open to junior sailors of all racing experience levels. Racing will be in Sunfish only, with sailors starting in front of C*C, racing north toward Skenoh Island, rounding a mark south of the island, and then racing back to the Yacht Club.
Schedule:
9:00 AM – Skippers’ Meeting
10:00 AM – First Warning Signal
Approximately 12:00 PM – Racing concludes
Awards immediately following racing
If your sailor is relatively new to racing, we highly recommend pairing them with another sailor. We will allow up to three junior sailors per Sunfish, so this is a great opportunity for newer racers to participate without having to sail alone.
When you RSVP, please let me know:

Sailor name(s)
Whether they need a boat
Whether they plan to sail individually or with another sailor
Their approximate racing experience
I’ve attached the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions with additional details.

⛵️ Junior Olympics 2026! ⛵️

This weekend, Canandaigua Community Sailing was proud to send four of our Race Club sailors and Junior Members to compete at the Junior Olympics hosted by Rochester Yacht Club!

-Jack Burke & Finn Lerner — 7th Place, 420 Non-Spinnaker
-Zander Veeck & Leo Murray — 7th Place, 420 Spinnaker

We are incredibly proud of all four sailors for representing CCS and putting their skills to the test against some great competition. It’s always exciting to see our Race Club sailors out on the water racing, learning, and continuing to grow!

This past weekend C*C hosted the Annual Dinghy Regatta an event that carried over 3 days of racing. The series of races included a 3 day Flying Dutchman National Championship, a two day MC Scow series, and a one day regatta for V15's, Sunfish & Lasers. Friday provided funky air but PRO Jonathan Gorbold managed to hold 2 races. Saturday dawned perfect for lake sailing, sunny skies over blue water and a breeze that fluctuated 8-12 in the morning and then diminished 4-6 for the afternoon. Racers went ashore tired and enjoyed a tail gate at the water front with awards for the V15's, Laser and Sunfish. Thanks to the C*C management for and amazing event.
