My first review… and I’m incredibly grateful.

Not just for the 5 stars, but for the response this book has received since it launched.

The messages…

The support…

Hearing from athletes I’ve coached, and parents of those athletes, both past and present sharing how this message is resonating.

That means everything to me.

This review hit home:

“To anyone who feels like their ‘enough is never enough’… this book is a reminder that it actually is.”

That’s why I wrote this.

For the athletes…

For the students…

For anyone carrying pressure, doubt, or the feeling that who they are isn’t enough.

You are.

Always.

Be Present.

Choose Well.

Repeat.

Over the past year I spent many quiet mornings and late nights writing something that has been on my heart for a long time.

As a mental performance coach, I’ve had the privilege of working with many athletes, teams and high performers over the years. Along the way I’ve seen how easy it is for people to quietly tie their self-worth to results. When performance fluctuates, confidence and peace often disappear with it.

This book grew out of my own journey as an athlete, coach and human being, as well as the struggles I’ve witnessed in so many athletes searching for confidence, identity and peace within themselves.

Be Present. Choose Well. Repeat.

It’s a simple philosophy about learning to stay grounded in the present moment, choosing your response with intention and remembering that you are enough before the result.

My hope is simple.

That somewhere in these pages someone finds relief, a shift in perspective or the freedom to compete and live with peace.

If it helps even one person see themselves differently, then the book has done exactly what I hoped it would.

Grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.

Granite Barbell: Where Strength Meets Heart

What happens when you combine world-class coaches who truly care, relentless work ethic, and an unbreakable team culture? Championship results.

Huge congratulations to Brett Somerville and his incredible team at Granite Barbell for their dominant performance at The Arnold’s securing 8 first-place finishes across powerlifting and strongman—at one of the biggest stages in strength sports!

I’ve known Brett since our little league and high school days, and his 20+ year pro strongman career speaks for itself. But beyond the accolades, what sets Granite Barbell apart is who they are—coaches who don’t just “talk the talk” but “walk the walk” EVERY SINGLE DAY. When you bring together that level of expertise, real-world experience, and a genuine passion for their athletes’ success, greatness isn’t just possible—it’s inevitable.

Some of these champions have also done my World’s Strongest Mindset training with me, proving that mental strength fuels physical dominance. At Granite Barbell, it’s more than just lifting weights—it’s a family, a team, and a culture of pushing limits both physically and mentally.

Whether you’re an aspiring pro strongman or powerlifter, a high school or college athlete looking to level up in your sport, or just someone ready to become your strongest self, Granite Barbell is the place. Brett and his coaching staff are the people.

Meeting a Champion with a Champion’s Mindset

Incredible experience meeting and chatting with Mitchell Hooper at the Arnold’s this weekend. Watching him dominate and secure his third straight title was nothing short of inspiring, but what stood out even more was his humility, kindness, and the way he carries himself as a competitor, a new father, and a leader in the strength world. His combination of intelligence, athleticism, controlling emotions, mental fortitude all while enjoying the ride with a pure heart is what makes him unstoppable.

His brand message with Team Moose— Lift Heavy, Be Kind, and “Don’t Be a Can’t”— is a testament to the mindset that makes him great. Hearing talk about his mental approach— executing his non-negotiables in training and preparation, staying fully present in the moment, and knowing the ex*****on of his process makes the outcome automatic— aligns perfectly with my World’s Strongest Mindset philosophy.

We also spoke about the legendary Bill Kazmaier, who I have the privilege of working with. Kaz’s impact on the sport and the mental game of strength athletics is undeniable, and it was great to share that connection with Mitchell as he similarly impacts the game today.

Massive gratitude to Mitchell for taking the time to snap a photo and talk about the mental game!

Success leaves clues. Surround yourself with the best, learn from them, keep moving forward and make a positive impact on the world!

Luck isn’t found, it’s created.

I’ve been through hell and back. I’ve faced death, defied the odds, and came out stronger every time. Some might call that luck, but I know the truth: I create my own luck.

My formula for luck:
✅ Believing in myself
✅ Focusing on what I can control
✅ Being present
✅ Making a positive impact in people’s lives
✅ Expressing gratitude

That’s why I stand with Lucky F**k Energy. Their mission isn’t about rolling the dice—it’s about rising up, taking control, and making things happen.

Met the amazing team at The Arnold Sports Festival, and it’s safe to say I’m a Lucky F**k for life. Huge shoutout to one of the co-founders and the crew for the hospitality—this brand isn’t just a drink, it’s a movement.

Luck isn’t given—it’s made. Go make yours.

Comeback Stronger: Navigating Injury with The World’s Strongest Mindset

Getting injured can feel like losing part of your identity. It’s frustrating, isolating, & filled with uncertainty. But with the right mindset, you can turn this challenge into an opportunity to grow & come back stronger. Here’s how:

1. Control What You Can:
Even when injured, you can control your attitude, effort, & approach to recovery. Focus on mental skills, core strength, or studying the game from a new perspective.

2. Build Mental Resilience:
Injuries test your patience but can build mental toughness. Use visualization to see yourself playing confidently again. Practice mindfulness & positive self-talk to stay focused on the present.

3. Set Small Goals:
Recovery can be overwhelming, so break it down into small, achievable goals—whether it’s range of motion or strength building. Celebrate each win to keep yourself motivated.

4. Trust the Process:
Fear of re-injury is natural, but trust your rehab plan & your expert rehab team. Discipline in your recovery ensures you’re not just healing but coming back more resilient & prepared.

5. Lean on Support:
Don’t go through it alone. Utilize the support system you have with teammates, coaches, trainers, & loved ones. Their support can carry you through tough days & keep you connected to the team.

6. Visualize a Fearless Return:
Picture yourself moving confidently on the court. Visualize your body responding perfectly, & feel the excitement of returning stronger, faster, & more prepared than ever.

🌎💪🏼🧠 World’s Strongest Mindset
🔑 Key Takeaway:
Injury may keep you off the court, but it doesn’t have to hold you back mentally. Focus on your rehab, grow your mindset, and trust the process. You’ll return physically & mentally tougher, with a deeper understanding of your strength & resilience.

🧠 The Power of Positive Self-Talk: Command Your Mind, Command Your Body

🤯 Negative self-talk & predicting negative outcomes can sabotage an athlete’s performance. The mind’s last thought becomes the body’s first action. It’s crucial to direct your thoughts toward what you want to achieve, not what you want to avoid.

🏐 Visualize What You Want To Happen, Not What You Fear Will Happen:
The mind always attempts to create visual representations of thoughts. When you say “don’t miss this serve,” your mind skips over the “don’t” (no visual association) & fixates on the image of missing the serve. Shift your self-talk to a positive command like “hit your target”. Consistently thinking about what you want to avoid creates a blueprint for that very action. Choose to focus on positive outcomes & rewire the mind-body connection to execute your desired outcome.

🏐 The Power of Positive Self-Talk:
Words from within are powerful. Negative self-talk like “I’m going to mess this up” or “I’m not good enough” can create a self-fulfilling prophecy. Replace those with positive affirmations like “I’m prepared for this” or “I’ve got this.” Positive self-talk aligns your mind with success, paving the way for your body to execute.

🏐 Reframe Negative Thoughts:
Negative thoughts can creep in. The key is to catch them early & reframe them. If you think, “I can’t do this,” immediately counter it with, “I’ve done this before & I can do it again.” This will help you build a habit of positive thinking.

✅ Instead of letting negative self-talk create self-fulfilling prophecies, shift your mindset. Trust in your preparation & your ability. By consciously choosing positive self-talk, you can direct your mind & body toward success.

🔑Key Takeaway:
The next time you’re in a negative thought loop, reframe it. Use positive commands that direct your mind to what you want to happen. Remember, your last thought will dictate your body’s first action.

🌎💪🏼🧠 World’s Strongest Mindset:
Your thoughts shape your reality—make sure they work for you, not against you. Command your mind, & your body will follow.

Success isn’t defined by how high you rise, but by how you respond when you fall. In sports, as in life, failure is not the end—it’s an opportunity to grow stronger and smarter. Here’s how to shift your perspective and use setbacks as stepping stones to greater achievements.

🔄 Performance Disappointment:
You didn’t perform as expected, and it’s frustrating. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, analyze your performance objectively. Identify specific areas to improve, set a plan for addressing them, and remember that every great athlete has faced failure. It’s not about avoiding mistakes, but about learning from them.

🎯 Not Named Captain:
Leadership comes in many forms. If you weren’t chosen as captain, focus on leading by example. Demonstrate resilience, support your teammates, and excel in your role. Leadership is about influence, not titles. Show your commitment to the team’s success, and you’ll earn the respect that matters most.

🏐 Not Named a Starter:
Sitting on the bench doesn’t define your value. Use this time to sharpen your skills, stay mentally engaged, and be the most supportive teammate on the court. Coaches notice effort and attitude. Stay ready, because when your moment comes, your preparation and positivity will make the difference.

🔑 Solution:
Resilience is about transforming setbacks into setups for success. Whether it’s adjusting your mindset after a tough game, embracing a new way to lead, or staying focused and prepared, every challenge is an opportunity to rise stronger. Remember, failure is just a pit stop on the road to greatness.

Takeaway:
Shift your perspective. When you see failure as a chance to grow, you turn obstacles into opportunities and setbacks into setups for an even greater comeback. Remember that you have complete control over your perception and response. Rise through resilience, and let every challenge fuel your journey to success.
