🏀 GREAT COACHES NEVER STOP LEARNING! 🔵🟡

Several of our Camillus Jr Wildcats coaches attended the two-day BCANY Coaches Conference this week, continuing their commitment to learning, growing, and becoming better coaches.

We were fortunate to learn from some outstanding basketball minds, including Colgate University Head Coach Matt Langel, Westhill Coach Jon Connelly, strength coach Matt Jones, and several other accomplished college and high school coaches.

We constantly challenge our players to improve, and we believe our coaches should hold themselves to that same standard. If we expect our players to put in the work to get better, we need to lead by example!

We're incredibly fortunate to have so many dedicated coaches in our program who invest their time and energy into becoming better teachers, mentors, and leaders.

Always learning. Always improving. Students of the game! 🏀

🏀 WHAT A START TO THE FALL! 🏀

The Jr. Wildcats kicked off our Fall Boot Camp on Monday, and followed it up Tuesday with our Shooting Development Clinic with Coach Greg Snyder and Speed & Footwork Clinic with Coach Mark Letiza!

A lot of kids. A lot of reps. A lot of work being put in. 💪🏀

These kids are putting in the unseen hours now to prepare for a great winter season!

Keep showing up. Keep working. Keep getting better.

🏆 END OF SUMMER LEGACY LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Dedication.

These boys and their families seized the opportunity to play a few more weeks of basketball at the end of a busy summer — all while juggling fall sports, football, soccer, family schedules, and the start of a new school year.

We’re grateful for families who continue to see the value in keeping these boys together, competing, and developing. The championship is great, but the time in the gym, the extra games, and the continued growth are what make it all worthwhile.

We’re building something special with this group, and we’re excited to see where the future takes them!

🏀🎡 What a great day at the Great New York State Fair!

A huge thank you to all of the players, coaches, and families who participated in today’s Camillus Jr. Wildcats event. 11 games throughout the day and a lot of great basketball on the outdoor courts.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to provide a unique experience like this for youth basketball players across Central New York.

Years from now, the players probably won’t remember the final score or who won and lost. But hopefully they’ll remember playing basketball at the Great New York State Fair, competing alongside their teammates, and having their friends and families there cheering them on.

Those are the experiences that stick with kids — and the moments that make youth sports about more than just the game.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today such a great experience! 💙💛🏀🎡

🏀 Another unforgettable week of Camillus Jr. Wildcats Summer Basketball Camp is in the books! 🏀

Four days filled with hard work, smiles, competition, and growth. These players showed up every day ready to learn, challenge themselves, and compete!

A huge thank you to our incredible coaching staff for investing their time, energy, and passion into these young athletes.

And thank you to all of our families for trusting us with your players this week. We appreciate your support and the opportunity to help develop not only better basketball players, but confident teammates and great young people.

The future is bright for Camillus Jr. Wildcats. Already looking forward to next summer! 💙💛🐾

Today we held our first Camillus Jr. Wildcats Summer Leadership Summit, bringing together our coaching staff to discuss the future of the program.

As the Jr. Wildcats continue to grow, it's important that we're intentional about where we're headed. We spent the afternoon discussing ideas for expanding player development, improving opportunities for our athletes, supporting our coaches, and continuing to raise the standard across every grade level.

What I appreciated most was that this wasn't a meeting where decisions were handed down—it was an open discussion. Every coach had an opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and help shape the future of the Jr. Wildcats.

A big thank you to Coach Maxwell and his family for hosting us, and to our coaches and families for making it a great afternoon. While the coaches met, former West Genesee standouts Jordan Cain and Sincere Smith put our kids through a great workout before everyone wrapped up the day with food, swimming, and a bonfire.

The conversations today reinforced something we've believed from the beginning: if we continue creating more opportunities for our players, investing in our coaches and staying true to our mission of development, the future of the Camillus Jr. Wildcats is bright!
