Good morning…….

We all have talents that The Lord has given us, but He also gave us purpose!

Many times we focus on the talents and not His Purpose.

What is/are those purposes……..

1. To know and love God.
Matthew 22:37
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

2. To glorify God.
Isaiah 43:7
everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.

3. To love other people.
Matthew 22:39
Love your neighbor as yourself.

4. To be more Christ-like.
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control.

5. To do what The Lord has prepared us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

6. To know and be with Him throughout eternity.
John 17:3
Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

While we do our “talents” in this life, let’s all work our “purpose” for this life…..and the next!

Good morning……..

These three phrases may seem the same, but they are very different from one another!

Phrases:

1. Knowing about Jesus
2. Believing about Jesus
3. Accepting Jesus

Meaning:

1. Oh yeah, I’ve heard about Him.
2. Oh yes, historical records show He existed.
3. Yes! I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior…….The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world…..I willingly submit and wish to be obedient to His teachings.

If we are not in the right category, we are going to be in for a big surprise at the day of judgement.

There is only one way into God’s Kingdom and that is belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Kinsman Redeemer!

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus….

Acts 4:12
Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Romans 10:9
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

I have been blessed to be, at this point, 63 years alive, to learn more, believe more, refine myself more, to understand more, to be wanting more, to be Christlike!

Some have not had the opportunity to be here long enough to refine themselves and absorb God’s goodness.

Our lives can be snuffed at any moment……..let us seek quickly a refinement with The Lord, a peace of Salvation through Jesus Christ, and have our hearts change to be willing, obedient servants of The Lord!

Good morning……..

Is there ANY benefit to sin?

Well, if we look at in its reverse effect, then possibly.

Sin itself is not good, but God can bring something good out of our experience with sin.

It can expose our weaknesses……
Sin can show us that we cannot perfectly live by our own strength and need God.

It can lead to repentance…….
Feeling conviction can turn our hearts back toward God.

It can humble us…….
Recognizing that we’ve fallen can make us less judgmental toward others.

It can make us even more amazed about God’s Grace…….
When we experience God’s forgiveness, we may appreciate His mercy in a deeper way.

It can produce spiritual growth…..
we can learn, change our habits, and become more dependent on God.

It gives us compassion for others…..
If we experienced failure we may be better equipped to encourage someone else who is struggling.

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been calledaccording to his purpose.

As the old saying goes, when given lemons, make lemonade!

Let’s all squeeze any lemons we may have and sweeten it with the Grace of God!

Good morning……..

Who doesn’t like nice things?

Who doesn’t want more money?

Who doesn’t worry about the future?

Who doesn’t have dreams and ambitions?

These are all human and fleshly traits, but God warns us……

Mark 4:18-19
Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word;

but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.

Most of the time, to most of us, we have the Christian equation of life backwards!

Instead of seeking God first, we seek ourselves first! That ends up as a negative!

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Psalm 63:1
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you.

Colossians 3:1-2
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.

Good morning……..

In the Bible, a “depraved mind” describes a mind that has become morally corrupted…..one that repeatedly rejects God’s truth, and eventually calls wrong right, or becomes indifferent to what God says.

Romans 1:28
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.

A depraved mind begins by rejecting God and affects moral judgement. A depraved mind produces sinful behavior.

We become desensitized to sin!

If we become enticed by a depraved mind, we may act out sinfully, things contrary to God’s design for us.

We must renew our minds!

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

We can’t just try to be better with our own strength, but we must renew our minds with the strength of the Holy Spirit!

A sinful thought is totally different from a depraved mind….

We may have temptations, but if we cultivate or embrace the temptations, then we slip into depravity.

Let’s cultivate and embrace God’s will for us, and be sensitive to the corruption, that a depraved mind produces!
