Tryouts can bring nerves, excitement, and a whole lot of anticipation — but remember: you don’t have to be perfect. You just have to be prepared to compete.

Come ready to work.
Come ready to communicate.
Come ready to learn.
Come ready to be a great teammate.

Most importantly, focus on what you can control: your effort, your attitude, your preparation, and the way you respond when things don’t go your way.

Whether you’re trying out for your first high school team or returning for another season, make the most of the opportunity. Learn from your teammates, challenge yourself, and enjoy being part of something bigger than yourself.

🏐 Welcome to Northern Storm Volleyball! 🖤💛

As we prepare to enter our 4th season of travel volleyball, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce who we are and what we’re all about.

Northern Storm Volleyball was created to give athletes in our area the opportunity to play competitive club volleyball close to home while keeping the experience affordable for families.

Over the past three seasons, we’ve built so much more than volleyball teams! We’ve built a community. Our athletes, families, coaches, and supporters have created an environment where hard work, encouragement, and a love for the game come together.

Our mission goes beyond wins and losses. We strive to develop confident athletes who return to their school programs as stronger communicators, better teammates, and more complete volleyball players. We believe the lessons learned through volleyball—accountability, resilience, leadership, and teamwork—last long after the final point.

Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just discovering Northern Storm, we’re excited to continue growing the game and providing opportunities for athletes throughout our region.

Here’s to Season 4, let’s make it our best one yet! 🌩️🏐

🔥 Mindset Monday — Play Fearless

Every volleyball player knows the feeling.

The serve feels bigger at 24-24.

The set comes your way on match point.

The ball hangs in the air for what feels like forever, and in that split second, your mind starts asking questions.

“What if I miss?”

“What if I let my team down?”

“What if I make the wrong decision?”

Fear has a funny way of making athletes play small.

Instead of swinging, they tip.

Instead of calling the ball, they hesitate.

Instead of trusting their training, they start thinking about everything that could go wrong.

But here’s the truth:

The athletes who grow the most aren’t the ones who never feel fear.

They’re the ones who refuse to let fear make their decisions.

They understand that mistakes are part of volleyball. Every player—even the best in the world—misses serves, gets blocked, shanks passes, and loses matches.

The difference is they don’t let one mistake become two.

They keep swinging.

They keep communicating.

They keep believing in themselves, even when the last point didn’t go their way.

Because courage isn’t the absence of fear.

It’s choosing to compete anyway.

So the next time you’re standing on the service line, stepping in for a big swing, or chasing a ball you aren’t sure you’ll reach, don’t think about what might happen if you fail.

Think about what becomes possible if you trust yourself.

Play aggressively.

Play confidently.

Play with the freedom that comes from knowing one mistake will never define you.

Mistakes are part of the game.

Fear doesn’t have to be.

Play fearless.

Whether you’re in the gym getting extra reps, in the weight room getting stronger, out enjoying summer with family, or simply taking time to recover, every choice you make is preparing you for the season ahead.

Success isn’t about one big moment. It’s about the little things you do consistently when no one is watching.

☀️ Summer has been flying by, and we’ve been busy doing what we love 👉🏼 playing volleyball, growing the game, and getting ready for another exciting season! 🏐💛🖤

Between camps, practices, workouts and planning for our upcoming fall teams, we’ve been so focused on volleyball that we completely missed an exciting milestone…

🎉 ONE MONTH UNTIL SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL STARTS! 🎉

To all of our Northern Storm athletes, we can’t wait to watch you compete, cheer each other on, and represent your schools this fall. Keep putting in the work over these last few weeks! Every rep, every lift, every touch on the ball, matters.

Looks like a fun opportunity for any HS girls in the area!

The Jamboree Days Volleyball Tournament is coming up, and the Trojans are ready for a fun day on the court! 🏐

Here are the details:

* Saturday, July 25, 2026
* Starts at 9:00 AM
* New Auburn Park
* No entry fee

This tournament is for high school girls teams with 6 players.

💛 15U, 16U/17U Tryouts – November 14 & 15
