“Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death.
Run to the roar.
Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-given passions.
Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention.
Stop pointing out problems. Become part of the solution.
Stop repeating the past. Start creating the future.
Face your fears. Fight for your dreams.
Grab opportunity by the mane and don’t let go!
Live like today is the first day and last day of your life.
Burn sinful bridges. Blaze new trails.
Live for the applause of nail-scarred hands.
Don’t let what’s wrong with you
keep you from worshiping what’s right with God.
Dare to fail. Dare to be different.
Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.”

King & Queen of the Mat 👑

Every Friday at Refuge Jiu Jitsu, our kids step up, challenge themselves, and earn their place on the mat.

“Good things happen when kids learn to do hard things… fall down, get back up, and keep going.”

This isn’t just about winning rounds—it’s about building resilience, confidence, and the mindset to face challenges head on.

Week after week, we’re developing strong, disciplined, and respectful young leaders—on and off the mat.

No Gi at Refuge.

Tuesday & Thursday — fast pace, constant movement, real pressure. No grips, no slowing down… just skill and effort.

This is where you sharpen your edge and learn to stay calm in the chaos.

Show up. Put in the work. Lead from the front.

The 6AM crew isn’t just chasing reps… we’re chasing discipline, purpose, and growth.

While most are still sleeping, this room is filled with people choosing the harder path—showing up, putting in the work, and setting the tone for the day ahead. That’s what leadership looks like. That’s what it means to lead from the front.

At Refuge Jiu Jitsu, we believe training goes beyond the mats. We’re building men and women who are morally grounded, ethically strong, and committed to doing the right thing—especially when it’s not easy.

Every early morning is a choice.
Every round is a test.
Every day is an opportunity to become better.

Show up. Stay disciplined. Lead from the front.

Pulling guard might get some laughs… 😂
But when it comes to real life, we teach something different.

Stay on top.
Control the situation.
Maintain the high ground.

Knee-on-belly isn’t just a position—it’s confidence, awareness, and the ability to handle pressure the right way.

All jokes aside, we teach our kids to face challenges head on—not run from them.
To be strong, moral, and ethical leaders who stand up for themselves and others.

That’s what anti-bullying really looks like. 💪

Marathon Roll. Why is it important? Because it’s hard. If you want to grow, be uncomfortable, put yourself in challenging situations. In order to grow you must cut the old vines., feel the pain and pressure and come back refined.

Early mornings aren’t always easy—but they’re always worth it.

Our 6 AM Jiu Jitsu class is a small group of people just showing up, doing the work, and trying to get a little better each day. No ego, no pressure—just training, learning, and supporting each other.

There’s something special about starting the day on the mats. It clears your mind, builds discipline, and gives you a quiet sense of accomplishment before the rest of the world gets going.

We’re all at different stages, but we share the same goal: consistency and growth, one morning at a time.

Grateful for this crew and the chance to train.

See you at 6 am

Consistency builds… keep moving, keep training.
