Camden Rod and Gun Club
“NEWS LETTER”
OK, where to begin.
On night of Thursday July 11th the Camden and surrounding areas got (from what I hear) almost 5 inches of rain in less than 3 hours. This deluge caused an amazing amount of water to shed off the ground around the club and all creeks to over flow. This turned our club property into a river and put our clubhouse in the middle. We have had Servicemaster in to do the job of drying things up. However, we need to have the wall all stripped down to the studs and sheet rocked. Essentially entire internal rehab. After walking around and cleaning stuff crap out I can tell you it is like getting punched multiple time in the gut. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have this happen to your house.
For the above reason the clubhouse, indoor and the Trap ranges are closed until further notice. The rifle, outdoor pistol and S***t Ranges are still open. Please keep in mind that the restrooms are closed. The door combination has been temporarily changed for this reason.
The Board has been meeting and has decided to get contractors to do the work both for liability and time frame reasons. The contractors will be rehabbing the clubhouse (Main room, Hallway and bathrooms). The indoor range has a bunch of work to be done also (cleaning the walls off, washing the walls and floor, sealing and painting the floor, replacing the wood beam in front of the sand (that people can’t seem to understand is not a target or the backstop), replacing carpet on top of benches and most likely rebuilding the bench bases. It looks like we (club members) will be taking care of this part of the project.
With all of this said, as you can imagine there is a lot of work to be done. And the COST will be HIGH. So we are asking our members to please make a one-time donation of whatever you can give. We have already had a couple members drop checks off. Anything will be appreciated. Also if you have skills or just the burning desire to help, please email me at [email protected].
Our Shooting family at Oneida Rifle Club are holding a Steal Plate shoot as a fundraiser for us on August 3rd at their club. Please see a copy of the email that Oneida has sent to their members with details of the shoot. If you are interested in shoot the steel, contact Dan via the information in his email.
Thank you all in advance

Steal Shoot Info from Oneida Rifle Club
Our good friends up at Camden Rod and Gun Club had a foot of water covering their range AND inside their club house last Thursday night!
The Oneida Rifle Club will be holding a fun steel shoot on Saturday August 3, 2019, to raise some money to help them.
There will be the usual suspects: a Texas star, plate rack(s), dueling tree, gongs, poppers.....
Any non magnum pistol round out of a pistol or rifle is good to use, 22 rimfire can be used but won't knock everything over.
(a few arrays including the texas star can be shot with birdshot from a shotgun)
We will have 6 or so arrays of targets. You can shoot any of them as much as you want in your time slot for fun.
If you want we will have about a 25 round group of targets which we will score if you want to see how you did amongst your peers.
Pre-registration required.
Email me with your preferred time slot:
9am or 11:45am
Requested donation for everyone is $20. You should be able to burn north of 150 rounds.
There will be a few 9mm carbines available if you want to bring some 9mm ammo.
There will be some 12 gauge semis there if you want to try them on a couple of the arrays (not all),
so bring your shotgun, or some 12 gauge low brass trap type bird shot ammo.
(cylinder, s***t, improved cylinder choke preferred, modified as a last choice is ok)
Thank you for helping our Camden friends,
Dan
