Meet Evan Constantine.

Evan first joined Equinox Guiding Service as an intern and quickly stood out through his strong work ethic, positive attitude, and passion for climbing.

Since then, he has continued to develop his skills as a climber, instructor, and outdoor professional. Most recently, Evan passed his AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) Exam and is now a certified guide.

A graduate of the Outdoor Leadership Program at Mid-Coast School of Technology, Evan earned his Advanced Wilderness First Aid certification and gained valuable experience through field-based leadership and instruction. This fall, he will attend Vermont State University to pursue a degree in Adventure Education.

What I appreciate most about Evan is his enthusiasm for helping others learn and grow. Whether he’s working with first-time climbers or experienced climbers looking to build new skills, he brings professionalism, patience, and a genuine love for the outdoors to every trip.

We’re excited to have Evan back guiding with us this season.

Climbing has a way of showing us who we are.

Not because it is easy, but because it asks something of us. It asks for patience, humility, courage, and a willingness to keep moving when things feel uncertain.

The lessons that stay with us are rarely about reaching the top. They’re about what we discover along the way.

Honored to be included in this year’s Made by Maine feature from Travel + Leisure.

I’ve been fortunate to spend most of my life exploring Maine’s mountains, cliffs, forests, and coastline. What started as a passion for climbing eventually became a career built around helping others experience these incredible places safely and confidently.

One of the things I love most about guiding is that every trip offers an opportunity to connect people with the natural world in a meaningful way. Whether it’s a first climb in Camden, a day exploring Acadia’s granite cliffs, or learning new skills through one of our courses, it’s a privilege to share these experiences with others.

I’m grateful to everyone who has supported Equinox Guiding Service over the years, from clients and guides to mentors, friends, and family.

And of course, I’m grateful to call Maine home.

Thank you to Travel + Leisure and the Made by Maine team for the feature.

MAINE’S WINDSWEPT COASTLINES, RUGGED HIGHLANDS, AND EVERGREEN FORESTS AREN’T JUST THE BACKDROP FOR MEMORABLE VACATIONS. THESE LANDSCAPES ALSO SHAPED GENERATIONS OF STORYTELLERS WHO CAN SHOW TRAVELERS THIS WILD, BEAUTIFUL PLACE IN ITS TRUEST FORM.

Meet Caleb.

Caleb’s climbing journey began through the Outdoor Leadership Program at Midcoast School of Technology during his junior year of high school. Since then, climbing has become a way for him to build technical skills, confidence, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper appreciation for adventure and personal growth.

This spring, Caleb graduated from Midcoast School of Technology’s Outdoor Leadership Program, where he developed skills in leadership, risk management, environmental ethics, and outdoor instruction. He also earned certifications in Advanced Wilderness First Aid and as a Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor.

This fall, Caleb will attend Vermont State University to pursue a degree in Outdoor Education.

We’re excited to have Caleb joining Equinox Guiding Service this season and look forward to supporting him as he continues to grow as a climber, educator, and outdoor professional.

Summer is here.

Long days on the rock, new experiences, good conversations, and plenty of time spent outside with great people.

We’ve already had a lot of fun getting the season underway, and we’re looking forward to many more days climbing in Camden, Acadia, and across Maine.

Grateful for everyone who has chosen to spend part of their summer with us.

Enjoy summer.

“As brand new climbers who only dabbled in indoor bouldering, we opted for the full-day Acadia experience and truly can’t recommend it enough.”

Reviews like this mean a lot.

One of my favorite parts of guiding is introducing people to outdoor climbing for the first time and watching their confidence grow throughout the day.

Alyssa and Dmitry joined me for a full day in Acadia that included a multi-pitch climb in the morning and ocean-side climbing in the afternoon. They showed up curious, eager to learn, and ready for an adventure.

I’m grateful they trusted us with their first outdoor climbing experience and even more grateful for the opportunity to share this incredible place with them.

Thank you both for the kind words and for spending the day climbing with Equinox.

“You don’t do hard things because you know you can do them. You do them because you know you might not be able to.”

That feels pretty true to climbing.

A lot of the meaningful moments out here start with uncertainty — not knowing exactly how it’s going to go, but deciding to try anyway.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been spending long days on the rock here in Maine, and I’ve been feeling really grateful for all the people choosing to step outside their comfort zone and spend time climbing with us.

Summer is starting to feel fully underway.

June is filling up quickly and we’re looking forward to a busy season ahead.
