Well, like I said yesterday. No expectations.
We rolled into Go Fast Raceway, Attica, In. with that attitude.
The plan was for me to run Slash Modified, sprint and Foam late model. And after I junked my modified, and knowing Carrie’s modified was a legit rocket, we played the switch-a-roo game with the bodies.
Carrie was worried about their high bite surface, so she played it safe and ran rookie to have one more race before she steps up there. She TQd and won the A main. But, little Bowen Hamilton will definitely be a threat there in the future.
My Foam late model is a missile. Took TQ honors and led every lap of the 65 lap A main in honor of Brent Harms. I didn’t know the man but yesterday we learned about how much of a pivotal roll he played in racing in general and the roll he had at GaFast. So it was my honor to be involved in that race.
Rubber tire sprint was a struggle all day long with setup. The car had great speed all day. And with the help of Brian Blanton, got it calmed down a bit for the a main. I qualified 4th and finished 4th. It’ll be a totally different game next year when these cars go on foam tires.
On to slash modified. Carrie’s car is there. Some refinements and it’ll be right there for next winter. I took TQ and the A Main win in convincing fashion.
That was the LAST EVER Slash modified race to be ran there as they’re combining the classes whereas you can run a modified body or stock car body and be on actual car tires and not the S1’s that I’ve always had an issue with.
I also picked up a 3rd place in the winter points for sprint car.
It is OFFICIAL! GoFast will be one of 2 home tracks this winter. 5Star being the other one.
There’s absolutely no drama at either place and the racing is fun as it is everywhere else. But we have to make an executive decision and stick to it. We’ve basically ran ourselves ragged these past few years going all over hells half acre racing and it’s worn us out.
This summers events include a few trips to High Road Raceway to race and announce, 5 Star Rc Raceways and Raceway 39 in Lizton. I’m hoping for one race at Raw RC, but as we’re getting closer to the date, it’s looking more and more grim.
