But it’s cool and I like it and if you don’t, your comments aren’t needed or welcomed.

Carrie and I are heading up Saturday morning to 5 Star Rc Raceways for their Barn Burner race.

I plan on running Slash, SC Mod and Losi Late Model

Carrie is planning on Slash and her Losi Late model.

Hoping we have stacked fields in all the classes and some great racing and even better fellowship with our toy car friends.

This will be our first time running the Late Models. They tested great a month ago. So we’ll have some fun with this class cause we can race them everywhere we race.

Made our way to 5 Star Rc Raceways to help Shane and Melissa out by announcing their Off Road Points race.

I was shocked to find all the people there were so respectful.

Shane let me race Novice. I hadn’t raced off road since 2011. And even back then it was a carpet off road race in Indy. I got 3 laps of practice but I did end up with TQ and the A main win. (Even though Carrie said I beat up on some kids.)

The one thing that wasn’t there was drama. Nobody complaining about this or that. Nobody whining about cheating or classes or rules. Just 102 entries of guys and gals racing and having a great time. A nice breeze allowed the dust to fill not only the announce booth but all over Carrie and I and all over her car.

We closed our night at the newly remolded Applebees in Logansport.

Great productive day in the race room.

I’m going to go through a bunch of items and post for sale in the coming weeks. Used bodies, a battery charger and some miscellaneous things.

I’ll be getting the cars ready this week for our next oval event at High Road R/C Raceway-Dirt Oval on 9/19.

This weekend Carrie and I are decompressing at France Park in the camper from Wednesday thru Sunday.

The 29th we’ll be at 5 Star to race and announce their off road event. Then the next day going to the Grissom Air Show.

Really looking forward to the indoor season. Plans are to run at Limestone Raceway, 5 Star Rc Raceways, Go Fast Raceway, Attica, In. And maybe trickle a couple of Dirt Devil RC Speedway, Brickhouse Rc Raceways in the mix.

2nd annual Indiana vs. Michigan race series. Round ✌️ at 5 Star Rc Raceways race report.

Loaded the truck and the camper and rolled north for the weekend.

So Friday, My plan was 3 classes for Saturday but my sprint cars had other plans for sure. So I shelved them pretty quick.

Put the SC Mod on the track. Instant problems. Didn’t realize after The Krater issue in the main that a CVA got bent in the crash. Got it repaired and now with the LR droop I run, the new axle pops out. So I substantially reduced the droop and that proved to not be the answer. So I ran qualifier 1 and shredded the hex out of the wheel. Changed the wheel and tire and ran round 2 with the same result. So determined the aluminum hex was killing the wheel so I changed it. Ran the D main and didn’t transfer.

Traxxas mod was crap killing a spur in round 1. Changed the spur, springs, droop and camber settings and TQd the class in round 2. But found out that the servo saving rack was broke. Stole carries out of her car and lined up for the A main. Ran and hid. Got 2 laps up on the field when going past a lapped car, got stuffed (like he never lived off the trigger for the turn) spun me and poor Jacob Unger had nowhere to go and clobbered me. Killing another spur with 15 laps to go.

Carrie got into a wicked fast borrowed ride and didn’t do too bad. Once we got her steering and trigger figured out she took the lead in the A main and led for some laps before getting passed and ending up 2nd. With her finish at The Krater and here at 5 Star she was able to secure her second IN vs MI championship in her class.

I really wish that more Indiana drivers would make these events. Michigan took home the trophy for the second year. And I know for a fact that if our Indiana guys would all make the trip to both events the points would be much closer even maybe bringing the trophy to Indiana. But hell, we have hundreds of RC racers here in Indiana and for whatever reason they have, they weren’t able to even make yesterday’s race.

Thanks to Matt "The MurfDogg" Murphy for an efficient and fast show. Shuffling 173 entries amongst 70ish racers is a monumental task and you sir knocked it out of the ballpark. And while listening to you, I took a lot of mental notes and will apply them next weekend at High Road R/C Raceway-Dirt Oval.

It is what it is. Carrie and I had a great time and enjoyed our weekend. Now to wake her up, pack up and roll south. ✌️ out Plymouth. We’ll be back in a couple weeks.

High road was a total blast.

We always enjoy heading up there, calling the races and doing a little racing.

In my almost 50 years, and countless times of traveling under the oasis, I finally got to stop at one. Had some Panda Express, and headed to the track.

Put carries mod on the track and it was okay. Good enough to have a good time. But there were no B Mods. (I assume they were all at Farmer City for the Big Tire Shootout) I assembled the car that I got from Mr. Rick Foster and gave it a whirl. And it was better than Carrie’s car. I messed with springs and gearing all night but it was fun to drive in their slash class. Ended up last but it was so much fun. Gotta go back to the heats and main and see where the gains were made.

Sprint car was a completely different story. I’ve seriously lost my passion for RC sprint cars. Car was so unpredictable during practice. Ended up spinning and hitting the was and knocking yet another front arm off. Frustrated with that car, I shelfed it and decided not to race it.

Calling the races was such a great time and I’d love to thank Duane Pierson for giving me the opportunity to have a fun race day and to have some fun on the 🎤.

We’re ready to head to High Road R/C Raceway-Dirt Oval to race and announce.

It’s gonna be a great day of racing. Get to see my Illinois buddies.

I’m racing 13.5 sprint and BMod (if there’s enough cars)

Well, we had plans to roll up to Plymouth for the Freedom Fest at 5 Star Rc Raceways but adulting happens and home bills come first and foremost. So we’re taking the weekend off unfortunately.

We wish all the racers all the luck Saturday. We’ll be back soon enough.

Race report from leg ☝️of the IN/MI challenge at the Krater.

Practice went well for Carrie and my mod. Sprint car info below.

We went to Michael Althoffs favorite bar and had dinner. Waitress even let me put Flo on the tv above us. Had one of his favorites (burrito dip). It was delicious. To the motel for some sleep.

To the track Saturday morning.

Carrie ran novice (that place scares her to death)

I planned on running open sprint and open Short course.

What ended up being a bad receiver put me in 360 sprint. I gotta lot of work to do to compete against them guys. They’re tough. Didn’t make it out of the F main. Thanks Troy Turner for the tires (that I didn’t bring)

Sc mod on the other had was pretty badass. The TQ in round 1. Went out for round 2 and it sheered the CVA pin. Torrey Snow nipped me for the TQ honors. Locked in 2nd quick for the start of the A. Lap 2 Zach Lutz and I got together and locked up. Knocked my CVA out of the LR ending my night.

Carrie had to run the BMain because I didn’t have her steering set right and we fought that all day. She transfers to the a where she started 5th. Muscled her way to 2nd, ran the high side, got nice and comfortable and was 2nd at the end.

She’s still the one one of us that has brought home hardware from The Krater. Until next time.
