Client testimonial.

Most people recline into their age to justify why they stop doing what they love. Mick wasn’t having that. He showed up to every movement session eager to improve his movement capacity and it’s paying off.
The movement approach is a powerful paradigm shift. Don’t let your world get smaller as the days go by. Develop a practice that allows you to do what you love for as long as you can.

Cheers to Mick! 🎿

“Don’t try to pet a scared cat abruptly and without warning unless you want to be scratched.”

If you’re new to mobility training - think of your nervous system as the scared cat and of your ego as the foolish hand. You have to convince the cat that you are safe and friendly.

Reciprocal Inhibition is a great way to warm up to the scared cat by using strength. Shortening of the muscles on one side of the joint by means of muscular contraction allows lengthening and relaxation of the muscles on the other side of the joint.

An example being - if you shorten the quadriceps then the hamstrings will feel protected and will release tension.

Just a few examples of movements where I use reciprocal inhibition:

1. Active pulses in a pancake.
2. Straddle L-sit.
3. Split squat dowel bridge to a wall.
4. Back Bridge to a wall.

Be nice to cats 🐈
