CTC completed the weekday Cambridge Youth Tennis summer camps yesterday with Camp Rainbow, the summer program serving young people with disabilities. All the camps bring counselors. Camp Rainbow's coaches joined the campers on the courts and here on the porch for ice cream. Left to right: Amelia, Ana, Dash and Malik. Thank you for a great season! 👏 💯 🥰

Love Serving Autism clinics are underway! Sundays 11:30-2:00 led by Pro Daniel Rinkert with volunteer members. Volunteer and participant spots are already full for this summer but come watch and applaud the engagement on both sides. Many thanks to Daniel and the CTC Outreach Committee.

Today and every Tuesday until mid August, the CTC hosts the Sheila Russell Doyle Youth & Community Center, between 12-1. This youth center is located at 680 Huron Ave, just across from the Golf Course Clubhouse and the public tennis courts. CTC Outreach has been providing free tennis lessons to this group since 2021! Coaches Alex and Daniel kept the kids busy and their skills were pretty amazing for only their 2nd visit this year!

CTC Summer Outreach
Every Monday, during July/August, between 12-1, the Cambridge Tennis Club hosts Gately Youth Center, located at 70 Rindge Ave. The youth (grades 4-8) draw primarily from the North Cambridge neighborhood and this is their 3rd year participating in lessons at the CTC. Pro Alex, a rising senior at BU, studying computer science, led them through a variety of drills, targeting the legs, hips and shoulders, with an additional focus on eye/ball/hand coordination. The game Simon Says also taught them the lines of the court and the deuce and add sides too. Once they had their rackets in hand, they worked on forehand & backhand shots. After their lessons, Front Desk Staff star Josh offered everyone an icy cold glass of lemonade and a freeze pop!

CTC was proud to host world women’s professional number 16 Iva Jovic who practiced with our own Alana Berry on Court 1. Coming off an incredible fourth round showing at Wimbledon where Iva lost in three sets to Jessie Pegula, she showed how special she is by taking Alana through her practice routine and treating the CTC members to a photo in front of our historic building. Thanks Iva!
