Working on breath to help balance and posture has been a game changer for this client. Instead of rounding he is now keeping taller in his back and keeping his balance. This one is a hard one but so good for active aging.

At home for massage and post surgery. I’m at 7 weeks post surgery and in physical therapy. This at home tool sold as and tool helps release stuck fascia. We need those layers to glide to move well. My deltoid was really stiff and my PT only does Graston and it isn’t enough. Note that I got approval first from PT and doctors to see what was allowed. Not staying over the surgical scars but moving it around was recommended. Anywhere there wasn’t a scar was ok to stay on the spot. I hope this helps for anyone that has adhesions from past injuries or surgeries. The more you can do on your own the faster the results!!

is about showing up for yourself. Don’t take it for granted. Everything you do everyday shows up in Pilates. It’s your reconnection back to yourself, your checkin. It shows you were to push, where to stretch, where to stabilize! isn’t one type, it’s for EVERYONE!!!

Sorry for the terrible bed head you will have to excuse me as I was bedridden for three days when I took this video post shoulder surgery. I had arthroscopic surgery, just a clean up, which means they clean out the dead tissue, smoothed a bone spur and cauterized a nerve. Here are some movies you can do if you can’t move your shoulder.

1. stretching on the floor whatever you can do with your legs.
2. Core work assisted by the arc around the world series meaning front side and back is worked without the use of putting pressure on your arm.
3. Body weight leg work as it is impossible to hold a weight. I felt really good to roll out my feet and get blood flowing through my calves and through my body.
Hope this is helpful save for yourself in the future or someone that you know who is about to have shoulder surgery!

Any other movies you like? Add in the comments below.

update. Keep positive!

It went really well and was the least invasive procedure. Minor tissue clean up, bone spur, and cauterizing of an inflamed nerve. I’m currently working on full Range of motion and resting and and out of the sling for comfort.

This week is my 1st full week back to working. Hope to see you soon if I havent. šŸ™‚

My advice is if you are rehabbing from injury or surgery keep a log or mental note of a few things that are improving for you each day. Maybe it’s more energy, better range of motion,.. In my case being able to hold a half cup of coffee without pain or scrub a dish with a sponge 🧽 šŸ˜… The little things do add up and that’s the way forward when you are not at 100 percent. Thank you for your support and well wishes. They mean a lot.
