Wowwww! look at the chips in, the KP. and a birdie not to mention the scoes under 50, we had a great week. Again, we had nearly 50 turn out for the Camaloch Lassies club this week. It is a great group and so much fun to see us grow!

Working on connection between admin. site and page. Please be patient. The stump photos help me to separate the active Lassies page from the administrative "business site, both have me stumped!

CAPTAIN KAREN’S UPDATE
Wow!! Most of you have just gotten through the “Snowmagedon” of 2021/2022! A few lucky Lassies snuck away to winter homes and vacations and were secretly glad to be in sunshine or even rain versus what those of you dealt with on the island.

It was great to see photos of Lassie friends skiing on the golf course! I know a few of you were also out there snowshoeing and hiking the course too—Lassies making the best of the rare winter weather. (Photo taken by Joan Ritzenthaler: Cindy White, Debbie Holtmann, Hollie Caley, Roberta Hubbell.

Meanwhile, the executive board officers have been busy working behind the scenes preparing for your 2022 season. Joan Ritzenthaler (treasurer and membership tracker) has been updating the membership roster and coordinating with Carole Burke who has been revising the Lassie Directory and email list (all while recovering from foot surgery). As treasurer, Joan has also been finalizing our 2022 budget.

Sandy Gascoigne is submitting the 2022 Lassies names to the Golf Handicap Information Network or GHIN. Co-Captain Renee Midgarden has been helping everyone! She has updated the board member responsibilities and created activity reporting documents for committee chairs.

We sure got a taste of the telecommuting world to accomplish tasks while traveling, celebrating holidays, and avoiding the gridlock caused by a mountain of snow!

Since Karen and Renee are both out of town, the board has enjoyed meeting via Zoom calls, through a million emails, and even a few old-school phone calls. Thank you Joan! Zoom is brand new to me and Joan has very patiently taught me the ins and outs of telecommuting to our board meetings.

We all hope that we can carry out all of our plans for a fun-filled 2022 with ever-changing Covid restrictions. Let’s all think positive thoughts moving forward into our 2022 season.

TREASURER’S REPORT—JOAN RITZENTHALER, TREASURER
I’ve received dues from 41 renewing members, 1 new member, 2 dual members and 5 social members. The dues due date was December 31, 2021, but I realize not everyone was able to get out due to our inclement weather. (How’s that for 3 dues in a sentence? LOL) So, we’re still ready to take your money so you can join in all the fun this year. Final date to join is January 11, 2022. As a reminder, renewals are $65 plus an optional $5 if you’re interested in ECCE (eclectic golfing competition) to earn rewards for your progress during the season.
New members pay $67, which includes $2 for hole-in-one insurance. Name tags are $10 (recommended). Membership forms are found by the Lassies bulletin board in the Camaloch Pro Shop as well as in the nearby lady’s room. I enthusiastically encourage you to talk to your neighbors and let them know what a great group we have and all the fun!
Dues can be dropped in the Lassies mail slot at the back of the pro shop or mailed to Joan Ritzenthaler, 222 Edinburgh Dr., Camano Island, 98282.

COMING VERY SOON! BUCKET LUNCHES START TUESDAY, JANUARY 18—CAROL ANN DECOSTER

Hey back by popular demand!! In the Lassies' off-season, did you know that homebound Lassies meet at the Camaloch driving range to hit a few balls and have lunch? Each week we gather up at the driving range followed by lunch at the Rockaway Grill until league season starts on APRIL 5.

Here’s how it goes:
• Go the pro shop and buy a token for a bucket of balls: $5.00/non-members (Lassies outside the community, $4.00/members (homeowners inside the community).

• Take your token over to the range ball machine just behind the driving range and fill up a bucket. Each bucket has approximately 35-40 balls.

• Head over to the driving range, find a mat and start swinging. You don’t need to bring your entire golf bag, but perhaps just 1-3 clubs that you'd like to work with (driver, 5 wood, 7 iron, 9 iron, etc.).

• Oh! You might want to bring your putter and 3 balls to use on the practice putting green too.

Of course, this is weather permitting. As long as the sky is dry, you can assume someone will be there. But hey! Lunch is always on!

DECEMBER HOLIDAY PARTY—JEANNE VINING
The Lassie's celebrated their annual holiday party on December 14. Thirty Lassies attended. Our Lassie special elves (left photo: Sandy Estes, Rebecca Boenish, Roberta Hubbell, and Jeanne Vining) sprinkled some magic and the Chalet was spectacularly decorated for the festivities. Lunch was delicious with the elves serving up a fun baked potato bar and salad with yummy toppings. Connie Kuehn made each Lassie a beautiful handmade ornaments. As usual-Good time had by all.

COMPETITION—HOLLIE CALEY
The Competition schedule for 2022 is set up and we are sure looking forward to a very fun year. To compete, here are some simple etiquette guidelines and rules to participate:

- Please be at the Camaloch Pro Shop or Chalet 30 minutes (depending on the schedule) prior to your scheduled tee time.
- On the second Tuesday each month the Lassies club holds a formal meeting at the Chalet followed by a Shotgun Start tournament.
- Each Lassie must note their first and last name and the date on their scorecard (only one person per card). Each competitor exchanges their card with another person in their group for scoring.

Once the game is done, competitors must attest, sign, and complete the competition scoring to be eligible for competition each week.

- Competition cards are turned in at the Pro-shop or at the Chalet, depending on the competition.
- Always record number of putts per hole unless otherwise directed.
- Newbies! You don’t have to compete on Tuesdays, you can just play golf and post your score.
