The most OVERLOOKED and UNDERRATED part of training an athlete to run is how they swing their arms.
Over and over again I see folks assume running is something that happens naturally. When we want someone to run faster, the first thing we tell them is to get their knees up. The try harder. How often do you hear anyone coach the arms? And when they do, how helpful is the advise they give?
We have found this to be the single most misunderstood and underdeveloped skill in athletic training. Hands down (pun intended). That's why we spend so much time getting this right first, because when you get the arms right, true athleticism can follow.
We use the coaching cue "DRUM DOWN" so the athlete can picture the motion, drumming the arm downward instead of pumping, pulling, or swinging side to side. Your arms are your accelerant, your steering wheel, and the key to your true athletic potential.
To really lock in the "DRUM DOWN" cue, we use the Two8 Bands. They make it so the athletes can FEEL how the arm is meant to swing. When the bands are removed, the feeling stays. It programs the muscle memory, so the arm swing stops being something you think about or something that feels awkward. It becomes the powerful weapon it was always meant to be.
Want to master your swing? Comment "ARMS" and we'll send you the free Arm Swing Supreme Program, so you learn how to master the arm swing with anyone.
