Huge shout out to two of our girls. Kloie and her Allendale squad won their District. Veda and her Sparta squad won their District. They landed in the same Regional, and we were hoping for them to square off for the Regional Championship, but Allendale would fall 1 game before. Fortunately Veda and her Sparta squad got it done. Winning Regionals and advancing to play Ogemaw Heights on Tuesday.

It's a week late, sorry life's been crazy for everyone.

These girls split the difference last Monday, both teams taking one win home for their conference. Great Job Kloie and Veda!

It was great to see these girls back at it in their only winter event. Don’t let the 0-2-1 weekend fool you, because they did play some solid ball this weekend.

Game 1 was decided by the only bad inning on the weekend. Allowing 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st, with only 2 earned and 1 of those being from a deflection off the dome on what would have been a routine fly ball. The girls would shut them down the rest of the way, and tack 1 run in the top of the 3rd. Falling 7-1.

Game 2 was a tight game. They out hit their opponent, but left 6 stranded through 4 innings. Though leaving so many on base, there were opportunities missed. 2 close plays at the plate didn’t swing in their favor, and either one would have secured the win. Instead they settled for a 1-1 tie.

Game 3 was the start of bracket play, and although the final score was 10-2 it was a close game. After retiring the first 2 batters in order, a Home Run was given up. Following that Home Run, the dome would eat the girls up. On what would be considered routine fly balls outdoors, 5 hits would deflect off of the dome and disrupt the ability to make a play. Leading to 6 runs allowed in the 1st inning. They were unable to overcome that, but held their own the rest of the way.

The girls continue to play at a high level, and are excited to contribute for their respective High School teams. Their summer schedule will be filled with great competition, as these girls continue to develop into a high level team.
