Just in case you are getting the jitters about joining fitness classes because you aren't sure what to expect. Here's how tonight will go AND what I have planned for the future.
I grew up in the 80's and 90's so I play A LOT of Classic Rock. Some will be original songs while some will be different versions made to get the blood pumping.
-At 7:30 we will start introductions and start off with a warm up song. A little slow than the rest of the songs but enough to get the muscles warmed up using dynamic movements helping us properly prepare for the class.
-The next 2 songs get us moving. I offer modifiers to everything I do so if there is a movement that you may not be ready for, don't worry. Everything is done with purpose so I will do the original movement then move to the modifier and ensure we move together.
-After that, this is your 1 minute break. This is just the dedicated break time. If at anytime throughout the class you feel you need to take a break, please do so. We are just starting out. It's important that we work our way there and breaks are necessary.
-2 more songs. Here we may raise the intensity slightly. Try to get our heart rates up or focus on movements to really engage our muscles.
-YOU MADE IT! Now comes the cool down song/songs. Depending on how intense some classes get, we make take time to cool down longer. Just to get our heart rates back to normal or to static stretch properly.
Future Classes:
-80's Night - always popular. Dress up in the flashy colors or the hair band rocker. Or even Richard Simmons! Let loose, relax, and enjoy the best era of music.
-Fellowship Night - A night to come together, Praise God, and to lift each other up. The best faith building music to bring us together.
-Tabata - Periodically, I will throw in Tabata classes. Special songs with countdowns. Raises the intensity!
-Flexibility Night - Stretching is just as important as the work we are putting in. In order to properly perform, we need to work on being flexible.
-Friend Fitness - A night dedicated to bringing a friend to share in your experience. On this night, friends enjoy the class for FREE!
-"Ask Me Why I Hate Keith" Night - A few years ago, we did a promotion called "Ask me why I hate Keith". It started from a member jokingly saying that and then in became bigger. On this night, there will be giveaways, merch, and more!
And more to come as we get stronger! First class is tonight (Jan. 6) at 7:30 at Pine Lake Camp! See you there!
