Today I had the chance to attend The TVC Warm Up #3 @ Eagle Island State Park on their picturesque 19 hole Disc Golf Course. The weather was cooperative and predictable to say the least. I started out keeping the ship sailing at an even rate and grabbing whatever birdies I could sink my putt into the chains for. This led to a few more birdies and some big par saves to finish -4 down for the first round.
The second round went way smoother with some big birdies that boosted my confidence to play my game with precision and smart disc selection. The wind kicked up halfway through the round which slowed the birdie train down a little bit but I was still able to fight the wind and maintain my lead by 3 strokes to come out with the victory! Ryan Harrington kept me on my toes the whole round to apply pressure on my part to do well. I was tested many times with some scramble golf and was still able to prevent myself from loosing strokes! This led to another -4 under par round to put me at -8 down for 2 rounds.
My Colossus came in clutch all day on the long fairways to put me in position for the perfect up shot. Jason Oxen of 208 Discs first introduced me to this disc four years ago and I finally feel like I'm in control of that disc. My Roc 3 was beautifully used to manipulate some tough shots to set me up to use my trusty Warden for the putt.
Thank you 208 Discs for all the support and encouragement! If you are looking for new tools to sharpen your game let Jason know and he will lead you in the right direction!
