DRESSING TO THE NINES
(the newest edition to my footwear...)

Tonight, was the debut of the newest edition to my footwear collection, the Dexter T•H•E 9... I've had my eye on these for a few months, wanting a classic look when I'm wearing black... These are incredibly comfortable and go extremely well with my black slacks and Jersey Alley, Split City Blues Bowling Team jersey... I purchase all my shoes at the Bowlers Destination, the Caldwell Bowl Pro-Shop...

The Caldwell Bowl Pro-Shop, beats internet pricing, and it feels good supporting a small business that supports our youth and gives back to our sport whenever possible...

BIG NIGHT FOR THESE TWO
(one near perfection, the other best game of the season...)

Bob Baer was near perfection rolling his 900 Global Sublime, for a 299, and Kim Chierici using her Motiv Black Venom, rolled her High Game for the season a real nice 218, helping our Split City Blues Bowling Team go 3 and 1 tonight, in the Sunday Nite Mixed League... Always looking their sharpest with their Jersey Alley jerseys...

Our very own Bob Baer, wearing his team jersey from our friend's at Jersey Alley, and rolling his 900 Global Sublime, came up just short of perfection tonight, rolling a 299... Well done Bob!!!

THIRD PLACE FINISH
(it was a great season, we just came up a little short...)

Congratulations to the defending champions, team "No F in Strikes" on becoming back to back Caldwell Bowl Mixed League Champions...

"No F in Strikes", Michelle Serratos, Amy Maves Campbell, Nick Scherer and Jason Serratos were outstanding in the Championship roll off and beat your Split City Blues Bowling Team by less than 50 pins over the three game set...

The Championship is determined by a four team roll off, most pins wins... I didn't keep track of the exact totals but here is how the season ended...

Champions: Team "No F in Strikes"
2nd Place: "Put Some Finger in It"
3rd Place: "Split City Blues"
4th Place: "Night Shift"

"No F in Strikes" took the Championship by less than 5 pins from "Put Some Finger in It" and those two teams got us by less than 50 pins.

We were down one bowler, Diana Cavins, who was bowling in tournaments in Las Vegas, NV, was unavailable, so, we were using her absent score which was 10 less her average...

With just the three of us and on the strength of an outstanding performance by Kim Chierici, rolling her first 500 series of the season, we kept it close through the first two games, but then Jason Serratos poured it on during the 3rd game and they pulled away...

That said, and giving our competitors credit where credit is due, I want to say just how proud I am of our team and make note of a few of our accomplishments on the season...

MOST WINS: (90) We recorded more wins on the season than any other team, totalling 90 wins the next closest team had 80.5...

MOST PINS: (71,454 scratch) We knocked down more pins than any other team, totaling 71,454 scratch... The next closest team knocked down 71,068...

HIGH AVERAGE MEN: (225) Bob Baer our anchorman had the high average for the season with a 225, the next closest was 220...

While we didn't finish this season as Champions we always looked our very best with our Jersey Alley custom bowling jerseys, and we played the game as it was intended, showing integrity, composer, and sportsmanship...

Your Split City Blues Bowling Team will be representing the Sunday Nite Mixed League in the Tournament of Champions on May 3rd due to scheduling conflicts to both team "No F in Strikes" and team "Put Some Finger in It"...

Again, Congratulations to the Champions and to all who competed in the roll off last night!!!

WE ENTER TONIGHTS POSITION ROUND
(tied for first...)

Last week we were swept, it hasn't happened many times this season, but it did last week when team "I'M Lobbin IT" swept your Split City Blues Bowling Team taking all 4 points...

Yet, eventhough we were swept we remain in first place for the quarter, falling into a tie with team "No "F" in Strikes"...

Now, we've already secured our spot in the finals next week, tonight doesn't mean anything in terms of chances at the Championship, but we are bowling for pride and to have the most points overall for the season...

Tonight we bowl for pride, next Sunday we bowl for all the marbles!!!

EVEN SHORT HANDED
(we did what needed to be done...)

After having fallen back into a tie for the top spot the week before in the Sunday Nite Mixed League standings, your Split City Blues Bowling Team though shorthanded, managed a 4 point sweep of team "Split Decisions"... It was a hard fought battle with each game coming down to the 10th frame... Diana was home with the flu and after problems with our original pair of lanes and not knowing when or if they would be playable, Bob went home after it looked like we would need to reschedule...

Tonight we have the opportunity to closeout the season on top and get prepared for the roll off for the league championship next week...

WEEK 29
(it was a battle and we came up short...)

In a head to head duel with team "Caldwell's Okayest Bowlers" your Split City Blues Bowling Team came up short and have fallen back into a tie for the top spot...

Caldwell Okayest Bowlers proved to be more than okay and were up to the task and bowled well, your Split City Blues Bowling Team was just a little off our game throughout our line up and didn't rise to the challenge... It happens...

We're back on the lanes tonight at Caldwell Bowl, lanes 13 - 14 against Team, "Split Decisions"...

GETTING CAUGHT UP ON OUR SEASON
(end of 3rd quarter, plus first four of the 4th quarter...)

Your Split City Blues Bowling Team finished the 3rd quarter on top of the standings and after splitting the first week of the 4th quarter we've now worked our way back to the top...

Anchorman, Bob Baer has been on a tear the last several weeks and has carried the team back to the top of the standings...
