Hello everyone I am KJ Kimberlin and welcome to the Bear Trail. It is a mountain bike and nature walk being built in the Baton NC area of Caldwell county. The idea came from principal Teffeteller and Coach Kale as a way of having a activity for the students to get outside and socal distance.
I was asked if I wanted to volunteer or help in anyway. After meeting with Mr Teffeteller and Coach Kale. I told them yes. I would help and on Nov 19th 2020 a partnership with Hearts and Soles 4 Kids and the bike trail begain. It has been rolling like a snowball down a mountain.
Because Lenior does not have a bike shop. I asked Mike at Overmountian cycles in Morganton if they would be interested in the project. They jumped on board.
After seeing what it would take to get it rolling. The Baton Elementary school need bikes for the program.
So a goal was set to raise the funds for 20 bikes to be given to Baton Elementary school and 50 helmets also.
We have gotten great support from the community.
Hearts and Soles 4 Kids is in this for the long haul.
We are looking for more sponsors. We will be needing volunteers to help groom the trail. Alot of stuff planned to make this a awesome place to enjoy some outdoor time.
