An ugly hole can count differently for your competition and your handicap record.

For a golfer with an established Handicap Index, net double bogey is the usual maximum hole score for posting. Start with par, add two, then add the handicap strokes received on that hole using your full Course Handicap. Plus-handicap players may give strokes back.

Example: on a par 4 where you receive one stroke, the posting limit is 7. An 8 becomes 7 for handicap purposes. It can still be 8 in the competition.

Check the format before picking up; this adjustment is not automatic permission to stop playing. Use hole-by-hole posting and review the app’s adjustment. New golfers establishing an Index use a different initial limit.
