Dynamic vs. static stretching. What’s the difference? ⬇️⬇️

Dynamic stretching is meant to get your body moving in a way that closely resembles the activity you’re about to perform. It’s more of a method of preparation for the body. That being said, the best time for dynamic stretching is right before activity (exercise, competition, game, etc.).

Static stretching is meant to help jump start the recovery process by increasing local circulation, decreasing tension caused by exercise, and stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system which gives you feelings of relaxation and calmness. That being said, static stretching is best utilized immediately following activity while the muscles are still warm.
