Congratulations to Gavin Schrock and Cash King for their 2nd Place finish in the KHSAA State Championship! Kentucky Lake proved to be a difficult place this week for most teams. Those two showed patience, focus, and fished hard for two straight days. That is remarkable for 7th graders and I couldn’t be more proud of them both.

Parker Hagewood and Eli Moore finished 38th out of 91 teams. They have qualified for state multiple years together and I look for them to continue getting better the next few years.

Thank you to our sponsors, parents, and boat captains for their support and hard work this year. Our students would not have this opportunity without you all.

Congratulations to our KHSAA Region 1 Bass Fishing State Qualifiers:

2nd Place: Gavin Schrock & Cash King
25th Place: Parker Hagewood & Eli Moore

Anyone that has helped us through the years knows that the region tournament is one of the most challenging events of the year. This is the first time since 2014 that we have placed in the top 3 in the region tournament (100+ teams each year).

Parker is heading back to the state championship for all third consecutive year as a freshman, Eli is now a two time qualifier as a sophomore, and then our 7th grade duo of Gavin Schrock and Cash King have qualified for the first time.

The state tournament will be May 8-9 and back on Kentucky / Barkley Lakes this year.

Our students wouldn’t have this opportunity without the hard work and dedication from our boat captains. They spend countless ours on water with our students helping them develop their skills and bass fishing knowledge.

Thank you to our many sponsors for their support, our Rotary Club for helping with fuel and team meals, and our parents for their support. This sport is not possible without all of their help.

See you in two weeks at state 😀

Region Tournament Week #14…wow that is a long time. I have been looking at pictures in my memories of all the kids through the years and it truly brings a smile to my face.

I always stress about this week even though I shouldn’t. We all want the kids to be successful and qualify for state. This year hits a little different with Gavin in my boat. I am really enjoying every minute of the experience (except when he throws my stuff in a tree 20 feet out of the water).

All of our boats have been on the water this week and the fish catching has been a challenge, but not impossible. More pictures coming throughout the week.

Thank you to all of our sponsors, our families, boat captains and my coworkers for stepping up and allowing me to be out of the office. I am surrounded by wonderful people that have the Team Trigg mentality.

Congratulations to Parker Hagewood and Eli Moore for a 3rd place finish today on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes! We had a huge field of 70+ teams and all of our anglers represented Trigg County well.

It was a brutally cold start to the day, but all of our kids fished hard. Spring is right around the corner and the fishing is starting to get good!

Our anglers have been busy this weekend. Yesterday, we had some helping Donnie prep meat for our fundraiser and had kids help at the local NWTF banquet.

Today we will be back at Donnie’s helping to finish up our fundraiser. Warmer weather is coming soon. Our first tournament will be February 21 on Kentucky Lake.
