Wow, what an array of mixed emotions for two days. Sunday, the track was prepped so nice for the The Moto Academy by Aj Catanzaro. Despite rain off and on, our crew worked so many hours for free, to prep the track. Monday night, the night before the academy, Mother Nature decided she would destroy our track and flood it. This was a major hit as we lost the track we worked so hard on the last two years after it was sold and then the time put in to make this track happen was also trashed by Mother Nature.
Aj Catanzaro and Cade Clason still arrived Tuesday and adapted a lesson plan that still taught so many fundamentals and allowed our crew to prep the track. We did this using two pieces of equipment and worked every second from sun up to sundown. By afternoon Tuesday we had the track prepped enough to form a jumping lane for the academy to instruct jumping.
Wednesday, today, we arrived early again and was track prepping from the break of dawn. By 11:00am we had the track in rideable condition after having to almost completely reform the track. The track formed up so nice and luck finally went our way.
The greatest thing in all of this was seeing the excitement on the riders faces getting to learn fundamentals from the best. Although we didn’t provide them with the best facility on the market, they seemed happy to learn from two great riders. We can’t thank EVERYONE enough for still showing up and toughing the conditions to learn and have fun. We’d also like to thank the Harrison County Fairboard for giving us the property to have this track and the academy in a time of need. We look forward to working with AJ again in the future should he be interested. Plans are in the works to purchase our own facility even in trying times and our unfavorable economy. At the end of the day, we’re not here to become rich, we want to give our riders the ability to practice, learn and become safer. We hope everyone enjoyed it.
