I know a lot of yall are wondering when signups will be. I am truly sorry, but due to my schedule I will not be able to facilitate teams this year. If there are any parents that are interest in taking over I am willing to do a handover.

Baseball season is right around the corner. This season we are looking to change things up by establishing a board to take over operations of the program. If you are interested in serving on the board, please send us a message. I will schedule a parents meeting in the near future so we can discuss the positions and vote on them.

What a season! Not the ending we wanted but it's not bad to end it with a 6-1 record. 12U played a tough game tonight in 100° heat, but came up short against the Yard Dawgs.

I want to say a big thanks to Coach Robbie Cowley and Coach Mark Lopez for taking time out of their schedules and giving back to our youth. I couldn't have done it without yall! The kids are better knowing that yall always had their backs.

Best part of the night, I had lady stop me in the dugout and said that regardless of the score, the Hot Shots were the winners. They maintained a positive attitude and was respectful to their opponents regardless of the score.

Thank you to all of the players that decided to become Hot Shots this season. Hopefully you made friends and learned a little bit about baseball.

And to the sad news. I am announcing my retirement from the coaching world. I need to move out of the way for more dedicated coaches to move up in the organization. And I get to spend more time with my kiddos now.

Hot Shots Baseball will continue to field teams in the upcoming seasons and I will continue to run the Cache T-Ball League. So don't be a stranger if you see me out mowing or raking a baseball field.

Thank you all!
Chad Barfield

Tough week for the Hot Shots. We are just 1 week away from the final game of the season for all teams and 2 weeks away from playoffs.

Hot Shots 8U has 2 games this week. They were able to play their 3rd shut out of the season against the Woodland Hills Woodsmen on the 14th but took one on the chin tonight with a 7-2 loss against the Cache Little Scrappers.

Hot Shots 10U played a very close game against the Snyder Cyclones tonight but came up short in a 10-9 defeat.

Hot Shots 12U are still undefeated on the season, but played back to back sloppy games. Winning against the Yard Dawgs 6-4 and the Lawton Renegades 7-5.

Each team has some work to do to make sure they go deep into the playoffs.

12U has clinched the #1 seed while 8U and 10U will have to fight their way into the playoffs.

Let's put this week's performance behind and concentrate on next week.

Let's go Hot Shots!!!

Hot Shots 12U remain undefeated on the season after a 6-4 victory over the Yard Dawgs.

Adrien Goodson started the game on the mound for the first time this season. In the top of the 2nd inning he was faced with bases loaded and two outs. After a quick discussion, Adrien sent 3 straight right down the middle to strike out the batter and getting himself out of a jam. Tough situation for a young pitcher, but he hung in there and got the job done. This brings his strike outs to 8 for the season. On the other side of the plate, he got a single bringing in two runners and eventually scoring himself. This brings his RBIs to 7. He also stole 2 bases, bringing his total to 11.

Team Captain Cameron Cowleys batting average and OBP remains at 1.000 after being walked. He was able to steal a base, bringing his season total to 6. He also had another solid performance behind the plate.

Shane Burge was able to crank out another single, resulting in a runner scoring. This brings his RBI count to 6. Shane stepped on the mound at the top of the 3rd. He was able to strike out 2, bringing his total to 16 for the season.

We had a total of 4 batters get a hit: Goodson, Morrison, Burge and Martin.

Total of 10 stolen bases: Clements-2, Goodson-2, Cooper-2, Burge-1, Morrison-1, Cowley-1 and Martin-1.

Batting Avg Leaders: Cam Cowley- 1.000 and Brantley France- 1.000

SB Leaders: Morrison-11, Goodson-11

RBI Leaders: Cowley-7, Goodson-7

HR Leaders: Cowley-2, Clements-2

Hot Shots 8U just pulled off another shutout of the season with a 7-0 victory over the Woodland Hills Woodsmen.

This defensive performance was dedicated to Coach Gravely. Coach G couldn't be in attendance due to a recent surgery, but the parents made sure he stayed updated.

This makes the 3rd shutout this season!

A shut out refers to the act by which a single pitcher pitches a complete game and does not allow the opposing team to score a run.

A no-hitter is a game in which a team does not score a hit.

Behind the arm of James Lopez, Hot Shots 12U did just that by beating the Yard Dawgs 12-0.

Lopez struck out 4 batters and allowed 1 walk. This brings his strikeout total to 12 for the season. But he didn't stop there! Lopez used his bat to hit a nice triple, bringing in 2 runners and then stole home on the next pitch. This brings his RBIs to 3 and stolen bases to 5. Picking up his first win, Lopez was definitely on his A game tonight.

Team Captain Cameron Cowley did not disappoint. Hitting a triple and bringing in 1 runner. This brings his RBI total to 7. On his second plate appearance, he was walked for the first time this season, but that didn't stop him from stealing 3 bases and scoring. This brings his stolen base total to 5.

Shane Burge lead the team in hits with a single and a triple. He also got an RBI, bringing his total to 5.

Jaydrian Clements was a speed demon after striking out and making it to first after a dropped 3rd strike. He then proceeded to steal 3 bases and scoring. This brings his SB total to 4.

Stolen base leader Karson Morrison added 3 more to his lead after being walked. This brings his total to 10.

We had a total of 7 players steal 17 bases: Morrison-3, Clements-3, Cowley-3, Goodson-3, France-2, R. Lopez-1, J. Lopez-1 and Cooper-1.

This was definitely a game in which these kiddos can look back and say, "we played baseball and had fun." They have officially set the standard on how we expect our teams to play.

Once again, big thanks to Coach Robbie Cowley and Coach Mark Lopez for their continued commitment to the team.
