ok how much snow is on the ground in the weedville, medix run, karthus area any help with me appreciated got about 8 inches on the ground at my home stopping grounds. wondering how much snow fell up north there. want to try and estimate the antler drop a pile of fresh snow will definitely delay the start of the process Sunshine and green grass are a major factor in antler growth. They have to grow new ones to push the old ones off at least that's how. I play it.it seems to work for me

Probably my best day in the Pennsylvania woods was shadowed by an uncle's feeling of guilt. When I first saw this deer at 4:20 Saturday afternoon I thought that it was a big six point that I had been seeing with my niece in archery season with a limited time to hunt. my niece took a lesser wounded deer out of the herd letting quite a few mature bucks pass this season while waiting for the big 10-point she saw early in the season to reappear. When I first saw this deer I never dreamed it was what it was only seeing its headgear for a split second we saw each other at the exact same moment as he slightly raised his head from eating acorns inside some grape Vines I was able to say to myself no doubt he's a shooter it's the big wide six. Which also has a few little doodads on his antlers in that split second positioned for the shot at about a 100 yards quartering towards me I let one fly taking my wife's gun out for a walk today was not my best decision I said to myself it is a 243 shooting 110 grain bullet the first one hit the buck square in the shoulder on his right side he went about 50 yards uphill and towards me I shot again at about 70 yards broadside and he crashed immediately.. with a few other hunters within eye shot of me. I made my way towards the deer, a friend of mine heard my shots, and made his way over towards me... finding me kneeling on the ground about 50 yards away from the deer he asked what was wrong and I told him all was fine but I felt a little bit guilty for shooting the big six point and that my niece also had her eyes on. I told him to go look at the buck.. which was at the bottom of a large oak tree with his head and antlers buried in some grape Vines... he walked up to the deer and said to me. Yep you're right it's the big six all right!!!!!! As I got up and made the approach to this massive whitetail I could not believe my eyes with all the time in the woods, spotting, and camera checks, in the last month,I have never laid eyes on this deer!!!!! going to ask a few other guys that hunt in the area if anyone else has seen him, so once my brain finally wrapped around the accomplishment that I just made. slowly there was a sense of guilt that crept over me it is absolutely inevitable that every time my niece cannot make it to the woods to hunt that I seem to see the bucks that she's waiting for it never fails even though she was tagged out and was absolutely thrilled for me deep down there's a small little part of me that wishes it would have been her and not me!!!!!!!!!!!! thankfully, she understands!!!!!!!! with the other guys around me that afternoon, he probably would not have made it one way or the other. but this way she knows she'll get to see this deer the rest of her life!!!! I just got a message from a friend,that lives about 2 mi down the street from where I harvest in this deer. he has trail cam pics of this Buck I'm eager to see them. that's awesome!!! It will look awesome to have a nice picture of him on the hoof to hang beside the mount
