Our MVC - Frank Shelby Jr.: MOST VALUABLE COACH

As this season came to a close, we could not let it end without acknowledging the work of our Coach. The hours he invests in both the U10 Recreational Teams and the Byram Blazers Academy are countless. He pours his time, talent, and treasure into the lives of these young players. We know that this is no easy feat. While he may feel he chose coaching, we feel coaching chose him.

We would be remiss not to also acknowledge his wife, Marquita Shelby who shares him with all of us—the kids who know him as Coach Frank and each parent who knows him as a brother. The coach life is not for the faint. The payoff is in seeing the kids grow and moments like this that remind him how much we appreciate him. He doesn’t punch a clock or receive a weekly paystub. What he does, is done in love! And that is invaluable.

It was a hard fought weekend for the Blazers and they felt it every step of the way. They were fierce competitors and left their sweat 😓 and tears 🥲 in the grass.

We are of the growth that we witnessed over the two days of this season closer.
