It's Self-Care Week at Healing Touch Fitness!
Self-Care is taking INTENTIONAL actions to preserve, promote, and manage your own physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Self-care is more important than people realize. You can't pour from an empty cup. Self-care helps us refill our cup before it becomes empty. By doing things for yourself, it can help manage stress, protect our well-being, and reduce the risk of burnout. And taking care of yourself is not selfish - it helps you show up for yourself and the people you care about. It means taking care of different aspects of yourself: your body, your mind, your emotions, and more.
Types of self-care:
Physical: Getting quality sleep, eating healthy meals, staying hydrated, exercise, massage, stretching or going for a walk
Emotional & Mental: Setting healthy boundaries, journaling, mindfulness, practice positive self-talk, find things to be grateful for, seek counseling, spend time outside
Social: Connect with supporting friends, family, community groups, call or text a friend, have lunch with someone you enjoy being around, if you need a break - spend time alone
Spiritual: Engage in practices that align with your values.
Remember that self-care doesn't have to be productive. It can be whatever you need in that moment. Sometimes it's cleaning your room, and other times it's sitting on the couch watching your favorite show because you need rest.
Don’t cheat yourself out of the care you deserve. You can’t pour from an empty cup.
