Bear spray is an effective, non-lethal deterrent, but carrying it is only one part of being prepared. Keep it accessible, know how to use it before you need it, and practice drawing it from the holster.

When traveling in bear country:
🔔 Stay alert and make noise
🥾 Hike in groups whenever possible
⚠️ If hiking alone, carry bear spray in hand
🌙 Avoid hiking at dawn, dusk, or after dark
