Go find out what’s happening on our local fisheries! Great night!

Join us for some beers and pizza while the finest biologists in Montana go over the state of the fisheries. The format is timed lightning talks from each biologist. They will be covering the Upper Clark Fork, Georgetown Lake, Rock Creek, Big Hole, Jefferson, Ruby, Beaverhead, and the Clark Fork Superfund area.

After the fun, we have some buisness to attend to. We are conducting BOD elections and going over the annual treasurers report.

Hope to see you there!

As of March 1, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks no longer allows fly shops and retailers to sell fishing or hunting licenses.

All Montana licenses must now be purchased directly through FWP — either online at fwp.mt.gov or at an FWP office.

We can’t issue licenses anymore, but we’re always here for fishing reports, flies, gear, and local advice before you hit the water.

FWP fish crews will begin spring sampling on the Ruby, Gallatin, East Gallatin, lower Madison, Beaverhead, Big Hole and Yellowstone rivers in the coming weeks through mid to late April. These annual electrofishing surveys help biologists gather data that inform population estimates, fish health assessments, and other trends.

FWP staff will continue to tag trout in the Beaverhead, Big Hole, Ruby and Madison rivers. Anglers who report catching tagged fish are helping biologists and Montana State University study trout population declines in parts of southwestern Montana.

Anglers should use clippers to remove the tag from the fish, then submit a report online for each tagged fish they catch. Blue tag reports put anglers into drawings for prizes, and other tag reports (yellow and green) are worth cash rewards.
