Our hearts pour out for our friends, family, and staff in Burnsville, Yancey County and all of W NC. Our private runway fared well through the hurricane and is technically open, with prior permission. However, our main (and only) road that leads off the mountain is severely damaged and cannot be utilized until repairs are made. Please do not plan to land here unless you're a helicopter stopping in on the way to another LZ. We will update this report once our road is back open and the runway can be utilized for relief missions. In the meantime, please check the Burnsville Hub page for the most up to date info on relief drop off locations and other important info.

Additionally, we are aware of a glitch in the phone forwarding system in relation to our POA Airport Manager. This is due to the phone company and they are unable to edit it due to no power. The correct phone number is 828-682-1578.
