As we prepare to start our Fall Academy this week, we are pleased to introduce Dan Versace as our new Director of Coaching!

​Dan has been an integral part of our community since our founding in 2019. Over the years, he has coached teams across multiple age groups and competitive levels, bringing a deep reservoir of experience, technical knowledge, and leadership to this expanded role.

​In his position as Director of Coaching, Dan will focus on three key strategic areas:

​Technical Direction: Supporting the growth of unified, high-standards of technical growth across all age groups that aligns with our clubs mission.

​Coach Development: Mentoring and upskilling our coaching staff to ensure top-tier instruction.

​Player Pathways: Designing clear progression tracks to support player growth from foundational levels to advanced competition across age groups.

​More than anything, Dan embodies what our club stands for in all that does. He not only deeply believes in our mission, but is genuinely committed to creating the best possible opportunities for our players, coaches, and entire community to grow together both on and off the field.

​Outside of our club, Dan currently serves as the Assistant Coach for the Burlington High School Varsity Boys team and remains an active, familiar face within the Green Mountain Boys supporter community. He is also extremely active in various adult leagues, supporting the growth of the game at all levels.

​Establishing this role is a major milestone for our club. We are excited to have Dan leading our developmental vision and setting the standard for our coaches and players moving forward!

One of our campers said something this week that really stuck: Joy and enthusiasm are the two things that help you push through hard times and persevere.

​Looking back at this camp session, those words couldn’t be truer. We compete not just to win, but to push ourselves to another level with energy and conviction.

​Every single day, our athletes brought non-stop energy to the pitch. Whether they were battling it out in our camp World Cup matches, grinding through technical drills, or competing in small-sided games, they pushed past their limits. But the best part? They didn't do it alone. The support and encouragement shared between players and coaches from start to finish showed the true strength of our community.

​We didn't just build better soccer players—we worked as a community to support better people. And in turn, our athletes pushed themselves to their limits from the first whistle to the last.

That is a wrap on the spring season…From our U6’s to our U19s, this season showcased our community-based style of play—defined by our ability to work together and strive for common goals through our effort and attitude.

Our competitive drive is built on our core values: Community, Character, and Commitment. True development isn’t about individual talent; it is about putting the team first, building resilience through tough battles, and staying dedicated to our collective identity.

We saw those values on the field this spring. We saw our teams striving to improve each and every time out on the field. We saw this culminate in some serious victories: our U16 boys won the Nordic Cup, our 2012 boys won their National League division and the Presidents Cup, and our U10 boys won their VPL division.

That same grit carried a number of our teams late into multiple events and league play. Our U10 Girls, our U12 Boys and Girls, our U13 Girls, our U13/14 Girls, and both our U14 and U19 Boys showcased their abilities deep into the season—from tournaments in New York and Massachusetts to matches at Tree Farm and Veterans Memorial Park— all while our U6’s and U8’s showed passion, joy, and focus through their levels of development.

Our success here means showing up for your teammates, adapting, and representing BFC with integrity both on and off the pitch. Thank you to the players, coaches and families whose commitment makes this club possible! We’d also like to thank our sponsors, and for your support all year long!
