Underspin backhand tip: stay on the line of contact longer and keep that racket moving forward. 🎾

A common issue with this shot — players chop down on the ball, and the spin ends up too floaty instead of penetrating and deep. That was exactly the issue we were working through here.

One cue that helps — copy a baseball umpire giving the "safe" sign. Arms wide, hold the finish. That extension keeps the racket moving through the ball instead of down into it.

🎾 Welcome Our Newest BTC Staff Member – Nathan Garrigan!

We’re excited to welcome Nathan Garrigan to the BTC staff as our newest Junior Assistant!

Nathan Garrigan began playing tennis in seventh grade when he joined his middle school team alongside a group of friends. What started as a fun activity quickly grew into a passion, and he has continued to develop his game through BTC's junior clinics and monthly UTR tournaments.

Nathan is currently a junior at Burlington Christian Academy, where he has been a member of the varsity tennis team for the past four years. Following an outstanding season, his team captured the state championship in their division, marking one of the highlights of his high school tennis career.

Now, Nathan is excited to join the coaching staff at BTC, where he looks forward to helping young players develop their skills, build confidence, and grow both on and off the court. He is especially passionate about helping kids discover a lifelong love for the game of tennis.
