Oh what can I say about this kid. Brooklyn or “B” as I call her. She is a firecracker, depending on which dugout you’re in determines if that’s good or bad.
If you’re playing against her, you probably don’t like her. If she’s on your team she’s a spark plug, to say the least. She will let you and everyone else know she’s done something good, either throwing out a runner stealing, a timely hit or one of many stolen bases “she’s so fast!”. But she is also the loudest voice cheering for her teammates. Looking back at clips or plays from GameChanger, I’ve heard her countless times yelling for Jersey and other teammates, most times the loudest voice! coming from center field on a camera behind the backstop. I’ve known B for several years now and been on both sides of the field with her. And when asked before she came to join us last year, “do we want her and her antics” I was like definitely!! Do I want 12 Brooklyn’s on one team, probably not. We’d have to fight a team or two every tournament. Plus I’m not the shortest person in the dugout when she’s around. lol
Now that she’s committed to VUU, I’d like to say we helped make that possible, but she did most of the work for sure. With that, she may have played her last game with us last weekend to end our season as our paths are going different directions. Hopefully she will grace us with a few “for fun” tournaments next year. Go and continue to make us proud B! We’ll see you on the field again, either with us or at school. Coach J
