HE’S BACK! Brance Glasgow — 2029 Paschal High School

Brance Glasgow will return for his third summer with the Blacksox in 2027. After joining the program as just a 14-year-old, Brance has continued to mature, develop, and become an increasingly valuable player in our program.

Brance put together an outstanding 2026 summer at the plate, hitting .469 with a .541 on-base percentage and .594 slugging percentage, producing an impressive 1.134 OPS. He showed the ability to put together quality at-bats and produce offensively.

One of Brance’s biggest strengths is his versatility. He can catch and has the athleticism and baseball IQ to play just about anywhere on the field, while being especially strong in the outfield. That versatility gives his team options and is another example of how Brance finds ways to contribute wherever he is needed.

2026 Summer Highlights: .469 AVG | .541 OBP | .594 SLG | 1.134 OPS

But Brance brings much more to the Blacksox than his ability on the field. He is an A+ teammate who does the little things right. He is mature, intelligent, incredibly hard-working, and committed to his process. He understands that development takes time and continues to stay focused on his own path.

The Blacksox also run deep in Brance’s family, as he is the nephew of Blacksox President Mickey Cornelius. It has been special watching Brance grow up within the program while beginning to create his own story in a Blacksox uniform.

We’re extremely excited to have Brance back for his third summer in 2027. He has already made tremendous strides since arriving as a 14-year-old, and we can’t wait to see where his continued work and development take him.

Tryouts for our Super Scout Elite Select Premier National teams are coming up! If you’re looking for those labels… please don’t come. 😂

We’ve never really understood the whole “Scout Team” thing. Our goal is pretty simple: develop players, compete, and help them get opportunities to play at the next level.

All of our seniors receive college offers.

So if a “Scout Team” has seniors finishing their careers without opportunities to play college baseball… what exactly are we scouting for?

No fancy labels. No gimmicks.

Just the Burkburnett Blacksox.

Coach Austin Givens has done an outstanding job with this group. The development we’ve already seen from these boys has been awesome, and they continue to get better every time they step on the field.

Proud of the way they competed today, and we’re excited to see what they can do tomorrow! ⚾️

HE’S BACK! Matthew Miller - 2028 Verden OK

Matthew Miller is the kind of player every coach wants in their program. He is an absolute workhorse, a true dirtbag, and plays the game like his hair is on fire. His passion, energy, and willingness to do whatever it takes to win are things you simply cannot teach.

Matthew put together an outstanding 2026 summer, hitting .373 with an incredible .580 on-base percentage and a 1.028 OPS. He collected 25 hits, scored 19 runs, drove in 11, and drew 16 walks while striking out just 8 times. But the number that really jumps off the page is 19 stolen bases.

Speed is Matthew’s elite tool, and he knows exactly how to use it. He can drive the baseball into the gaps, but he also understands that he doesn’t have to hit a double to end up standing on second base. He can play small ball, beat out a ground ball, work a walk, or find any other way to get his feet on base. Once he gets there, everything changes. He creates havoc, puts pressure on the defense, and becomes an opposing pitcher’s nightmare.

2026 Summer Highlights: .373 AVG | .580 OBP | 1.028 OPS | 25 H | 19 R | 11 RBI | 16 BB | 19 SB | 86% SB

As good as the numbers are, they still don’t tell you what makes Matthew special. There is zero ego with this kid. He is 100% committed to his team, loves his teammates, and will take on any role or do anything asked of him if it gives his team a better chance to win. Everyone loves having him around because you know exactly what you are getting from him every single day.

Matthew makes things happen. His speed, competitiveness, versatility, and baseball instincts give him tools that translate to the next level, but his character and approach to the game may be even more valuable. He is exactly the type of player college coaches are looking for, and we believe he is going to make a college program very happy when his opportunity comes.

We’re excited to have Matthew back with the Blacksox in 2027!

HE’S BACK! Kallen Roberts - 2030 Burkburnett

For Kallen Roberts, being a Blacksox is about more than just putting on the uniform — it’s part of his family history.

Kallen is a second-generation Blacksox player. His dad played in the program, his older brother is a Blacksox Wall of Fame inductee, and his grandfather helped Blacksox President Mickey Cornelius build the original high school baseball field in Burkburnett. Kallen has truly grown up around the Blacksox program, coming through our youth teams and spending countless hours in the facility.

Last summer, Kallen took on a challenge that not many 14-year-olds experience. He played at the 16U level, collecting more than 50 at-bats while competing against players two to four years older than him. The goal was to challenge him, force him to adjust to a faster and more physical level of baseball, and give him experience that will pay off as he continues to develop.

He also showed plenty of promise on the mound, finishing his final two starts of the summer with a 3.00 ERA.

Playing up is nothing new for Kallen. At just 13 years old, he even suited up in a 19U game alongside his brother’s team. He has never been afraid of a challenge or of competing against older players.

What stands out most about Kallen, though, is his work ethic. He is in the facility year-round and has established himself as one of the hardest-working young players in our program. He has grown up understanding what it means to be a Blacksox, and now he is beginning to create his own chapter in a family history that runs deep within this program.

We are extremely excited to have Kallen back and to watch him continue to grow and develop into the player we believe he can become. His story with the Blacksox started long before he ever put on the uniform — and we believe the best part of it is still ahead.

HE’S BACK! Cooper Herrell - 2028 Iowa Park

Cooper Herrell out of Iowa Park is another exciting arm returning to the Blacksox in 2027. Few players in the program have made a bigger jump on the mound over the last year, with Cooper adding nearly 10 MPH to his fastball while continuing to develop as a pitcher.

Cooper also showed his ability as a two-way player this summer. At the plate, he hit .346 with a .382 OBP, .519 SLG and .901 OPS. He collected 18 hits, including 5 doubles and 2 triples, while driving in 11 runs.

2026 Summer Highlights: .346 AVG | .382 OBP | .519 SLG | .901 OPS | 18 H | 5 2B | 2 3B | 11 RBI

While Cooper is a strong offensive player, his future on the mound is what makes him especially exciting. The jump in velocity he has made over the last year is a credit to his development and the work he has put in. He continues to get stronger, throw harder, and become more comfortable on the mound.

Cooper projects as a very high-level pitcher, and we believe there is still another big jump ahead of him. We’re excited to watch his development continue and have him back with the Blacksox in 2027!

HE’S BACK! Dawson Lynch - 2028 Milsap TX

Dawson Lynch has been a mainstay in the Blacksox program and represents everything we want our players to be. He is a leader in the clubhouse, one of the hardest workers in the room, and a true dirtbag who will do whatever it takes to help his team win.

Dawson put together an outstanding 2026 summer at the plate, hitting .377 with a .449 on-base percentage and .532 slugging percentage, producing a .982 OPS. He collected 29 hits, including 7 doubles, a triple, and a home run, while driving in 18 runs and scoring 18.

His value also extends to the mound, where Dawson struck out 32 hitters and picked up 2 wins. His versatility and willingness to take on whatever role his team needs have made him an incredibly valuable part of the Blacksox program.

2026 Summer Highlights: .377 AVG | .449 OBP | .532 SLG | .982 OPS | 29 H | 7 2B | 1 3B | 1 HR | 18 RBI | 18 R | 32 SO

The numbers tell you Dawson can play, but they don’t tell the entire story. His work ethic, toughness, competitiveness, and commitment to his teammates are what separate him. He brings energy to the field every day and has earned the respect of the players and coaches around him.

Dawson is the type of player every team needs and every coach wants in their clubhouse. We’re proud to have him representing the Blacksox and excited to have him back in 2027!

HE’S BACK! Adam Tayara — 2028 Arlington TX

Adam Tayara was a strong presence in the middle of the Blacksox lineup throughout the 2026 summer, giving us a physical bat capable of driving in runs while also proving to be a major asset on the mound.

Adam finished the summer hitting .329. He collected 24 hits, including 7 doubles, while driving in a team-impacting 26 runs and scoring 17. His ability to produce with runners on base made him a dependable run producer in the heart of the order.

Adam also showed his value on the mound, finishing the summer with a 1.40 ERA and 24 strikeouts. As the summer progressed, he continued to become more comfortable and effective on the mound, including a 9-strikeout performance late in the season.

2026 Summer Highlights: .329 AVG | .363 OBP | .425 SLG | 24 H | 7 2B | 26 RBI | 17 R | 1.40 ERA | 24 SO

Adam’s ability to impact the game as both a middle-of-the-order bat and a pitcher gives him tremendous value. He brings a physical presence to the lineup, competes on the mound, and has continued to develop into a complete two-way player.

We’re excited to have Adam back with the Blacksox in 2027!
