Our kids at PDK Martial Arts in Tacoma, Washington, have been preparing since they committed to the national team last year. It's been a long journey. I know how much hard work they put in day after day, even when they were exhausted and didn't want to be there, they still showed up to practice. The look on their faces when they overcame those obstacles was priceless; I could see the change in their eyes immediately.
The growth was as clear as a summer sky. I knew they had no doubts and finally believed in themselves the way I do. Their confidence and their spirit to dare to be great is exactly what I wanted them to achieve. I want them all to take that mindset and apply it to everything they do in life. Moving forward, nothing can stop them from achieving their goals.
Literally countless hours of preparation for one single moment unlocked something great in all of them. Yes, I am proud to say that they all won gold and are National Champions! But the most important part is the growth achieved in each and every one of them. All I ever wanted was to help them believe and KNOW that they are amazing, and to give them the confidence to face their fears and doubts and conquer them.
Mission accomplished! Lets go TEAM PDK!

Special thanks to the organizers, staff, and volunteers at the AAU Taekwondo National Championships for hosting such an amazing event. This was, by far, the best Nationals we have ever competed at. It was an amazing experience to compete with all styles of Taekwondo from around the world. A truly inclusive event.
The setup for staging was incredibly organized. Having each ring sectioned off specifically for staging was next-level efficiency. Behind the scenes, the staff members were on top of every concern and consistently went above and beyond for us; they truly made sure everyone was taken care of. For instance, when we urgently needed to coordinate a sparring match for one of our athletes, the staff was running back and forth to make it a reality. They personally ensured everything was entered into the system ASAP and executed flawlessly.
Communication throughout the tournament was completely transparent. Any changes or updates were consistently made available via Facebook and streamed live on their online platform, keeping everyone informed in real time. Furthermore, the organizers took the time to personally make sure our voices were heard. They actively sought out our feedback and provided clear, thoughtful answers to all of our questions. They are just all-around genuine people. We deeply appreciated the warm hospitality, professional management, and meaningful engagement.
