Most women walk out of physical therapy with a green light and no map. “You’re cleared to exercise” is not a plan. It’s the beginning of the gap where real capability either gets built or quietly continues to decline.
I spent 15 years watching that pattern repeat. The hormonal shift happens first. Bone density responds to it. And by the time the numbers show up on a DEXA scan, the window where prevention was easy has already passed. That’s not a reason to panic. It’s a reason to understand what’s actually driving the problem before reaching for the obvious answer.
Calcium is not the whole story. Estrogen protects bone and when it drops, formation slows. Progressive resistance training gives the bone a reason to rebuild. Impact loading stimulates formation. Balance training reduces fall risk. These aren’t competing ideas. They’re the same system. At Body Engineering, we don’t hand you a supplement list. We load the bone, train the balance, and build the structure that holds everything else together.
If any slide in this carousel made you stop, that’s worth paying attention to. Comment “BONES” below and we’ll send you Jeff’s full breakdown on what your DEXA scan is actually measuring and what to do about it. Your next step doesn’t have to be a major commitment. It starts with a 15-minute conversation. Link in bio.
