For any business owner, there are always tasks that we dread doing, and if at all possible those should be the ones we delegate, automate or eliminate if possible.

The holidays can be a joyful and wonderful time for family and friends to gather.

But if you or a loved one has a differently-wired brain, it might feel....a bit overwhelming for them.

Additional sights, sounds and so much hustle and bustle can cause some people to go into a stress response state.

Please remember this holiday season that if someone says they can't attend that's ok. They may need to decompress.

If a child is having what appears to be a meltdown, it might actually be their system overload stress response.

Let's move into the holidays with love and acceptance for every brain not just the way ours thinks.

It has been hugely helpful for me to build space into my regular schedule.

This space lets me focus on me for a few minutes. I use it to do something fun, to take a break, to spend a moment with my family, or binge my favorite Netflix show.

It's so important to remember to create space in your schedule so that you can take care of you!

Especially as the holidays are gearing up.

Remember to take time to recharge your battery first.

Let's talk about getting it all out on paper.

Sometimes there are just too many things floating around inside my head and the best thing I can do is to have a massive brain dump.

I actually keep a google doc with all of my brain dumps on it, so it's easy to find.

Once I complete this I can then start to prioritize the tasks that were circling in my brain. This frees me up to tackle things that can be completed quickly which gives me more mental space for bigger items.

It's always better for us to tackle the easiest task first, get a little dopamine, and sense of accomplishment - then move on to the next thing.

Build up a little momentum ... maybe it will turn into a hyper focus.

If your head is feeling full, take a few minutes now,and dump it all out!

I created what I thought would be the perfect system for me for tracking my business expenses and income.

Turns out, QuickBooks and I aren't really friends after all.

Now don't get me wrong, I think it's great software and can really help business owners but for my differently-wired brain it's less than ideal.

I've decided to use parts of their system while also staying dedicated to my Profit First system.
