🇺🇸 250 Years… the pursuit is still on... 🇺🇸

Today marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

250 years ago, 56 men signed their names to a document that would change the course of history. They pledged everything they had, property, finances, family and future, to an idea—that freedom was worth the cost.

The American Experiment was never built on comfort. It was built on courage, sacrifice, personal responsibility, and the belief that ordinary people could accomplish extraordinary things when united by a common purpose under God.

The word UNITED in United States of America remains as important today as it was in 1776.

Unity does not require that we all think alike. Unity is not the absence of disagreement. Unity is the willingness and the tolerance necessary to come together despite our differences and work toward something greater than ourselves without tearing the fabric of our nation apart.

America is not perfect and it will never be perfect… that is the wisdom of our founders when they penned those words that has motivated generation after generation to form a ‘more perfect union’.

This weekend, as we celebrate 250 years of freedom, more than gratitude; forward and intentional action is the best way to honor the sacrifice of those who have strived to make a more perfect union…

Love God with all you are, love your neighbor as you love yourself.

Serve your community. Lead your family well. Take responsibility for the freedoms you’ve been given.

Take time to consider what you will do to help shape the next 250 years.

Blessed and grateful to be born in these United States, and even more grateful for the incredible families we get to serve every day.

Live Life… on Purpose… Never Quit!

There are a lot of names and descriptions for “father” today.

Baby daddy.
Biological father.
Absent father.
Stepfather.
Father figure.

It seems like we’ve created countless labels to explain, excuse, redefine, or distance ourselves from what a father was always meant to be.

But when a father is present…
When he loves unconditionally, serves selflessly, protects fiercely, sacrifices willingly, and raises his children with purpose…

He isn’t called a biological father.
He isn’t called a father figure.
He isn’t called a provider.

He’s called Dad… (and for my babygirl I’ll always be Daddy 😍)

Titles don’t make a father. Presence does.
Responsibility does.
Sacrifice does.
Character does…

Being ACTIVE does… loving when it’s hard, leading when it’s unpopular, serving when no one is watching, and raising sons and daughters who make their community and generation better.

Today, we celebrate the men who transcended the biological and legal boundaries of fatherhood and showed up, stayed the course, carried the weight, and never quit.. taking on the definition of ‘Dad’...

To all the Dads who love unconditionally, serve selflessly, protect fiercely, raising decent, Godly human beings in the image of THE FATHER…

Happy Dad’s Day!

In memory and honor of my Uncle Merle Haben, my father’s brother who gave his life as a soldier in B Company, 1ST Battalian, 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division in the Tay Ninh Province of South Vietnam.

Thank you to all of service men and women who sacrifice their lives daily for the sake of our families and country.

A special thanks to Dennis Black and Ed Mann (author of Jungle Ghosts) who served with my Uncle and have never let his memory fade.
